- Show 4 pictures on p.134 with 4 word cards under each picture.

- Ask students to look at these pictures and word cards and read aloud the complete sentences.

Grammar:

- Ask students “Is it hot in the winter?”

“Is it cold in the summer?”

To ask about the weather in the summer, I will say: “What’s the weather like in the summer?”

And the answer will be “It’s hot in the summer.”

- Give the structure

“What’s the weather like in the spring/ summer/fall/winter?

It’s hot/cold/cool/warm in the spring/ summer/fall/winter.”

He likes cool weather. She likes cool weather. So I will say “They like cool weather.”

Play “Making sentences”
Divide class into 2 groups.
Give each group a set of key words.
From these key words, ask students to make complete sentences (questions and answers) as many as possible.
Key words: What – the – weather – is – you – spring – fall – summer – winter – hot – cool – cold – warm – do – like – in - ?
Let students write down their sentences in group boards then stick on the board. The group with many right sentences will be the winner.
