Brainstorming. Ways to reduce the amount of garbage
Answer key:
- We should use tree leaves to wrap things.
- We should reuse used papers to make toys.
- We should use garbage to make fertilizer.

Task 1: Practice dialogue in pairs. One is Miss Blake. The other is Ba, Hoa and Lan. (p.89-90)
Task 2: Answer the questions 
a) What does Miss Blake mean by reduce? 
à Reduce means not buying products which are over packaged.
b) What thing can we reuse?
à We can reuse things like envelopes, glass, plastic bottles, and old plastic bags.
c) What does recycle mean?
à Recycle means not just throwing things away. Try and find another use for them.
d) Where can we look for information on recycling things?
à We can look for information on recycling things by having a contact with an organization like Friends of the Earth, going to the local library, or asking our family and friends.
e) Why does Miss Blake tell Lan that we shouldn’t use plastic bags at all?
à (Ss’answers) We shouldn’t use plastic bags because when we throw them away they could stay very long couldn’t be self-destroyed
