1.-Help the students to practice writing a letter.
-Introduce the situations and help the students to understand how to complete the task.
_let the students read the letter Tim sent to Hoa then read sentences A-D.
-Ask the students to read the letter then complete the missing places.
-Call some pairs to check.
-Correct the mistakes if any.
Complete the letter Tim sent Hoa about the trip to the Grand Canyon. 
2.- Explain the requests from the task.
-Let the students read the guide.
- Ask the students answer the questions about outline.
- According to the letter which Tim sent Hoa and the answers above to write a letter to one of their friends.
Post-writing.
- Let the students exchange their writings with their friends.
Consolidation.
- Call 3 students to read their letters before the class.
- Correct some mistakes if any.

1. Complete the letter Tim sent Hoa about his trip to the Grand Canyon. Insert the letters of the missing sentences.
1 – C. I hope you are studying hard for your exams next week.
2 - B . The Canyon is part of Grand Canyon National Park and it was formed by the Colorado River over millions of years.
3 - D. He also talked about the original inhabitants who lived there during the Stone Age.

2. Write a letter to a friend. Tell him/her about a place you have visited recently. Use the following prompts to help you.

How are you? I hope you are studying hard for your exam next month.
My family has just returned from a trip to Phong Nha Cave. It was quite far , about 1000 km from Lao Cai. We went there by train and stayed there for 5 days. 
Although it was spring, it was rather hot because it is the middle of Vietnam – in Q. Tri province.
The sights there were magnificent. We took a boat to go every where . We all felt excited and didn’t want to leave.
That’s all I have time to tell you about. What do you plan to next summer. Write to me after your exam.
