1) Pre - reading:

-Guide the students study the new words.

 +Ask the students to skim the text so as to find out the new words.

+Read aloud.

+Write on the board.

+Repeat in chorus.

Objectives:
-At the end of the lesson students can:
+Read dialogues/passages for details a text about Ba and his friends.
 -Contents. 
+Vocabulary: 
 shy, sociable, out going , generous, reserved, annoy, affect, tell (jokes). 
+Grammar:
 Enjoy/ dislike/like+ V_ing. 
-Skill.
+Weaker students: Read and understand the correct pronunciation of the words used to describe the personality of a person.
+Excellent students: Read and understand the way describing a friend’s character.
Teaching aids:
 +CD-player.

Greetings and checking attendances:
- Do you have many friends?
- What do you do together in free time?
Checking the old lesson.(3’)
-Ask the students to describe Miss Hien.
-Introduce the topic of the lesson to the students.( We will learn how to describe our friend’s character, type.)
New lesson.(35’)
Pre - reading: 
-Guide the students study the new words.
 +Ask the students to skim the text so as to find out the new words.
+Read aloud.
+Write on the board.
+Repeat in chorus.
+Explain the meaning.
While – reading 
*Help the students to practice reading:
+Ask the students to introduce their friends in brief.
+ Introduce the topic of the text: ( The writer will introduce his close friends.)
+Read the text in silence and choose the correct sentences.
- Students read the text and check their predictions.
-Review some phrases:
+Matching the sentences.
- Explain the meanings of the words and phrases.(Optional)
+Read the text in silence then find the answers.
 -Let the students read the text and answer the questions.(work in pairs)
+Call some students to check.
a, How does Ba feel having a lot of friends?
b, Who is the most sociable?
c, Who likes reading?
d, What is bad thing about Ba’ jokes?
e, Where does Bao spend his free time?

Post - reading: 
Students work in groups to talk to another about their friends. Use the adjectives they have just learned to describe them.

-Ask the students to give some examples with enjoy+V_ing
