What is the weather like?
Who is absence today?
Checking the old lesson.(2’)
-Check their preparation for the lesson.
-Introduce the topic of the lesson to the students.( Now we are going to practice listening then get information.)
New lesson.(35’)
Pre- listening
-Help the students to study the new words.
+Ask the students to read all words in chorus aloud.
+Explain the meaning.
+Remember the meaning and make example.
+Write on the notice book.
While- listening
- Introduce: “ This is Sarah’s school report. You will hear a conversation between her mother and Mrs. Chen talking about Sarah’s result.”
-Let the students read the information in the report card.
Explain the requests from the students about the sentences in the card.
-Let the students guess the missing information freely.
+ Can you guess the result?
- Play the Audio-CD (1st). Students listen to get information. ( Without pausing the Audio-CD)
- Play the tape (2nd). Students listen and complete the report card.
- Ask the students to check their works with the each others.
- Plays the Audio-CD (3rd). Students listen and check the answers.
Post- listening
- Call some students to give their answer.
-Correct and give the right answers.
Feedback.(3’)
Explain the requests from the students.

Listen.
Listen to the dialogue and complete the report card.
Miss Blake: Good evening Mrs.Chen.
Mrs. Chen: Good evening.
Miss Blake: I am please to tell you that Sarah has worked very hard this year and her graded are very good.
Mrs. Chen: I am so pleased to hear that.
Miss Blake: She missed 5 days of school due to sickness but an attendance of 87 days for the whole term is acceptable. Both her participation and cooperation are satisfactory. So, there are no problems there.
Mrs. Chen: How is she doing in English?
Miss Blake: Her speaking and reading are excellent and her writing is good. If she words a bit harder on her writing skills, she should get an A for writing next term.
Mr. Chen: How about listening comprehension?
Miss Blake: I am afraid she is not very good at that. I gave her a C.
Mrs. Chen: How can we help her improve?
Get her to watch English TV if possible, and encourage her to listen to English radio programs. Also, I have some cassettes here which you can borrow.
Mrs. Chen: Thank you very much, Miss Blake. We really appreciate your help.
