I. Objectives: 
By the end of the lesson, students can talk about the activities that the community service often do. 
II. Language contents: 
Grammar: review (past simple and present perfect tense)

Skills: integrated 4 skills (focus on speaking skill)

Pre teach vocabulary 
- T elicits vocabulary by using: 
. example: a teacher who comes to your house and teach only you. 
. definition: a house for elderly people who don’t have their children to take care of them. 
. picture 
. definition: It’s a large picture which is drawn on the wall by someone. (you are allowed to draw). 
. definition: a house for homeless people to live. 
- T uses CCQs for each word. 
- T checks: Slap the board

Pre speaking 
- T sets the scene from the pictures: “What are these pictures about?”
- T makes questions to elicit the situation in each picture. 
- T writes their answers on the board and asks them to compare their ideas with the text. 
- T confirms their ideas. 
While speaking 
- T shows the photos about community service in Viet Nam and asks Ss to match with the activities. 
- T confirms their answers. 
- T gives ICQs for this activity. 
- T monitors the activity. 
Post speaking 
-T asks Ss to work in pairs to choose the three activities that they want to try and explain why?

- Ss work in groups to write the activities on the board. 
- Ss listen, repeat and copy.

- Ss look at the pictures and answer the questions.

1. Look at the photos and read about the following volunteer activities for teenagers in the United States. 
* Tutor a younger child or provide homework help before or after school. 
* Recycle things, and teach others how to do so.
* Plant trees in public areas where the whole neighborhood can enjoy them.
* Donate blood. 
* Talk to and sing for the elderly at a nursing home. 
* Make blankets for children who are very ill. 
* Cook a meal at a shelter for homeless youths and families. 
* paint a mural over graffiti. 
2. Match the photos about community service in Viet Nam with the activities.
