Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Understand the content of the dialogue between Nam and Phuong, know more about Brazil- Rio de Janeiro. - Understand the problems in the slums. - Do exercises to widen their vocabulary about Overcrowded places. - Students can use vocabulary to describe the overcrowded places. - Listen and read to get information from the text. 1. Knowledge - Vocabulary: the lexical items related to the topic “An overcrowded world ”: diverse, overcrowded, slum, spacious , . - Grammar: Comparison of quantifiers: fewer 2. Skills: practice and develop reading and speaking skills. 3. Attitude: - Ss know how to express their opinions about something. - Students are interested in learning English more. 4. Competences: - Self – learning capability - Co-operation - Communicative competence II. Preparation: 1. Teacher: textbook, lesson plan, pictures, projector 2. Students: textbooks, notebooks III. Exercise 4: Make a list of problems which you think are connected to an overcrowded area. A list of problems: - There is not enough space to play in. - There is a lot of crime. - Traffic congestion occurs regularly because of many vehicles - The air is polluted, so people have to suffer from disease. - The education is low. People are not friendly and generous. - Life is so noisy and busy. V. Consolidation and homework. (4 minutes) Consolidation: T: ask Ss to summaries the main content of the lesson. + Use the lexical items related to the topic “An overcrowded world” to describe the overcrowded places + Mention the problems in the slums. Homework: Learn by heart new words, the lexical items related to the topic “An overcrowded world”. Practice reading the conversation : a holiday story Practice making sentences with adjectives which are used to describe a person or a place.
