UNIT 10: OUR HOUSES IN THE FUTURE
Lesson 5: Skills 1: Reading and Speaking
I.Objectives: 
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read for specific information about future houses and appliances, and talk about the houses in the future.
Knowledge:
Vocabulary: the lexical items related to the topic “ Our houses in the future”
- Grammar: - will + Vbare-infinitive for the future
 - might + Vbare-infinitive for the future possibility
 2. Skills: Practicing skills: listening, reading, writing, speaking
 3. Attitude: - Encourge Ss to discover types of houses and modern appliances in the world.
	 - Ss are interested in doing exercises.
 4. Competences:
- Self – learning capability
- Co-operation
- Communicative competence
II. Preparation: 
Teacher: book, lesson plan, picture, laptop, pictures, chalks, sub-board, board
Students: books, notebooks

- It’s rather difficult for students to make use of all the contents of this unit.

- T organizes the game
- Divide the whole class into 2 teams: team A and team B
- T shows 8 eggs. There are 2 lucky eggs.
- T tells the rule of this game: The topic today is types of house. If you find out lucky eggs, you don’t need to answer the questions and you have 1 point. If it’s not a lucky eggs, you have to answer the question. Your answer is true, you will get 1 point. If it’s false, the other team will answer that question.
- T asks Ss to choose their turn.
- T gets feedback and corrects
- T declares and congratulates the winner.
- T introduces the new lesson. You are going to read the text about a future house.
- Before reading, T gives Ss some new words
(*) Step:
- T elicits Ss for the meaning of the new words.
- T shows the meaning 
- T models pronunciation of the new words.
-T calls the whole class to read them again
- T calls 2 Ss to repeat the new words.
- T gets Ss to copy them into notebooks
(*) Steps: 
- T draws 5 circles and elicits the words from the Ss.
- T writes the words in circles.
- T gets Ss to read the words again 2 times.
- When all the words are on the board, T rubs out one of the words but still keeps the circles.
- T gets Ss to read the words, including the rubbed out word by pointing at the empty circle.
- T rubs out another word but leaves the circle.
- T points to the words or the empty circle.
- T continues till all the words are rubbed out.
- T gets 2 Ss to wrote the words again.
- T checks Ss’ pronunciation.
(*) Activity 1: Steps:
- T shows the picture and asks Ss some questions:
- T gets Ss to work in pair to answer the questions.
- T calls a few of couples to report.
(*) Activity 2: Steps:
- T gets Ss to read the text and check their predictions.
- T gets feedback from Ss and corrects
(*)Activity 3: 
- T gets Ss to read the text again
- T calls 2 Ss to read the text aloud.
- T guides Ss to identify keywords to find answers faster
- T controls time to do this exercise.
- T gets 2 Ss to go to the board and write down the answer
- T checks Ss answers and corrects
(*) Activity 4: Steps:
- T asks Ss: How many questions are there?
- T calls 1 Ss read all the questions
- T organizes the game: “Hidden picture”
- T divides the class into 2 teams: team A and team D
- T shows the games and tells the rule: there are 4 boxes. You choose the box and answer the question. If your answer is true, you can get 10 points and open this box, you will see a part of hidden picture. If your answer is wrong, the other team can answer your question. When you open 2 boxes, you can guess the hidden picture immediately, you can get 50 points. Which team has more scores is the winner.
- T controls the time and the class while playing the game.
- T gets feedback and corrects.
 - T declares the winner and congratulates them.
- T gets Ss to copy the answers into notebooks.

- T gives instructions on the structure of the house 
- T gets Ss to mention some appliances, things in each room
- T asks Ss to work in pairs: Ss 1 draws the future house based on T’s structure( don’t show the partner), then describe the house to Ss 2. Ss 2 will draw that house.
- T gives S structures to describe the house to the partner.
- T gets Ss to read the example( course book) and do the task.
- T controls the class and gives help Ss when nessesary.
- T calls some Ss to perform the task in front of the class.
- T gets feedback and corrects mistakes.
(*) Activity 6: group- work
- T asks Ss to work in group of four.
- T gets Ss to mention some appliances in the bedroom.
- Let Ss discuss their work as given in the example:
- T calls some Ss speak before the class and has Ss give their comments.
