Lesson 3: Part 4, 5, 6

A. Objects:

- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to develop reading and writing skills.

B. Language focus:

- Review the period lesson.

C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.

D. Procedure:

I. Warm up

- Ask sts to read the chant on page 10 individually and chorally.

II. New lesson

1. Read and answer.

- Ask sts to open their book on page 11.

- Give instruction.

- Ask sts to read sts’ cards and do the task in pairs.

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.

- Call on some sts to report their answers.

- Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the dialogue.

- Have the whole class chorally read each line of the sentences to reinforce their pronunciation.

2. Write about you.

- Tell sts that they are going to write a short paragraph about themselves.

- Let sts discuss what they are going to write in groups.

- Get sts to exchange their paragraph.

- Check and correct mistakes

3. Project

- Give each st a small card.

- Instruct sts how to make a name card by themselves.

Lesson 3: Part 1, 2, 3
A. Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Practice 2 sounds / l/ and /n/ .
- Develop listening, writing skills.
- Know how to read the chant “ Hello, friends”.
B. Language focus: 
- Phonics: Linda, night
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Check the old lesson.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to open the book page 10, draw their attention to the letters colored differently in the words Linda and night
- Produce the sound of the letter l and n 
- Have sts repeat the focused sounds a few times.
- Play the recording twice and ask sts to repeat.
- Monitor the activity and offer help.
- Call on someone to pronounce.
- Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud.
- Ask sts to turn to Page 10 of the Student Book. 
- Give instruction.
- Play the tape twice.
- Ask them to listen and circle the answers.
- Check sts’ notebook.
- Call someone to write on the board then say it aloud.
- Check and correct mistakes.
3. Let’s chant
- Show the chart of the chant “Hello, friends”
- Play the tape a few times.
- Ask sts to read aloud each line in the song and clap their hands.
- Ask them to listen again and repeat.
- Have sts practice the chant in pairs.
- Call each group, then pairs to perform.
- Correct and comment.
- Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation.
III. Reinforcement 
- In this lesson, sts have learned how to pronounce 2 sounds / l/, /n/.
- Have sts to further practice at home.
- Be ready Unit 1 – Lesson 3(4.5.6)
IV. Homelink
- Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook.

Unit 2: I’m from Japan.
Lesson 1: Part 1, 2
A. Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the words and phrases related to the topics: “countries and nationality”
- Ask and answer questions about where someone is from using “ Where are you from? I’m from..”
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: Japan, England, America, Australia, Malaysia.
- Sentence patterns: Where are you from? I’m from Japan.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Ask sts to sing the chant “hello, friends”
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Look ,listen and repeat.
- Set the sense.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 2 groups and ask them to play roles.
- Ask sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogue by going through some words: Nice work!, Japan.
 2. Look and say
- Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d and introduce some names of countries: Malaysia, America, Australia, England.
- Use handmade puppets to teach. 
- Explain the pattern:	Where are you from? I’m from Japan 
- Model the structure: T-sts; sts-T; S1-S2 
- Have sts to look at the pictures and greet and ask where you are from in pairs.
- Move around to offer helps.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task.
III. Reinforcement:
- Call sts to recall what they have learnt.
IV. Homelink
- Have sts to further practice at home. 
Week: 4. 	 Teaching date: 9/ 10/ 2020
Period: 8. 	
Unit 2: I’m from Japan.
Lesson 1: Part 3,4,5
A. Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the words and phrases related to the topics: “countries and nationality”
- Ask and answer questions about where someone is from using “ Where are you from? I’m from..”
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: Review
- Sentence patterns: Where are you from?. I’m from Japan.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
* Game: Matching flags
(using flags and new words from the last period)
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Listen and tick 
- Run through.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and tick.
- Play once more times for sts to check their answers.
- Ask sts to compare with their partners.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.

2. Look and write
- Ask sts to look at the flags and say the name of the country
- Tell sts what they are going to fill the gap following the pictures.
- Remind sts to write the initial letter of the word at the beginning of each sentences in capital letters.
- Allow sts time to do the task in pairs.
- Go around to offer help if necessary.
- Correct, remark and give keys.

III. Reinforcement 
- Ask sts to open their Student’s book on page 13. 
- Stick the large- sized sheet of paper with the sing on page 7 on the board. 
- Tell them that they are going to sing the song: Where are you from?.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of the song. 
- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. 
- Play the recording once more for sts to repeat the whole song. 
- Call on some sts to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class clap their hands at rhythms.
- Sing the song in the prepared clip.
IV. Homelink
- Ask sts to do exercises C in their workbook.
