C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
- Ask sts to recite the chant: This is my family.
- Reinforce sts’ pronunciation.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.

Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic physical appearance. - Make comparision. B. Language focus: - Vocabulary: tall, short, slim, old, young. - Sentence patterns: Who’s taller? My brother is taller. C. Resources: Book, CD-player. D. Procedure. I. Warm-up: - Ask sts recall the last lesson. - Comment. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to look at the pictures then run through and set the scene. - Give instruction. - Open the cassette all the way through. - Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue. - Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to play a role. - Have sts to do further practice in pairs. - Give feedback. - Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue: elder,taller. - Elicit the sentence pattern from sts: Who’s taller? My brother is taller. - Give examples. * Notes: old => elder/ older Tall => taller Slim => slimmer 2. Practice - Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures. - Run through then give instruction. - Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2. - Let sts practise in pairs with the given information, then practise freely by themselves. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to report. - Comment. Listen and circle - Let sts guess what are they going to do. - Give instruction. - Ask them to elicit the pictures. - Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen. - Replay for sts to listen and tick. - Play once more times for sts to check their answers. - Ask sts to compare with their partners. - Call on some sts to report. - Give feedback. Listen and repeat - Have sts to concerntrate on: th in the words: this, that, thin, thick. - Pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model. - Play the recording twice for sts to listen and repeat. - Ask sts to repeat and others give feedback. - Let sts listen to the CD again then tell how to pronounce the sound of the letters: th in the words: this, that, thin, thick. - Ask them to compare the sound of these wordswith Vietnamese. - Give feedback. 2. Listen and tick. Then write and say aloud. - Ask sts to discuss what they are going to do. - Play the recording for sts to listen. - Replay for sts to listen and circle the best answers. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answer. - Ask sts to compare with their partner. - Call on some sts to report. - Give feedback.
