- Use the words and phrases related to the topic School.
- Ask and answer questions about where a school is, using Where’s your school? It’s in + (place).

I .Warm-up :
- Spend a few minutes asking and answering questions about the pupils’ school (in Vietnamese) such as What’s the name of your school? Where is it? What class are you? What do you know about the school? Then get pupils to open their books on Page 40 and read the title.
- Lead in the new lesson.
Week: 10. Teaching date: 23/ 11/ 2020 Period: 33. Short story A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Review the phonics, vocabulary and sentence patterns from units 1 - 5. B. Language focus - Structure: Review C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. - Review the model sentences from unit1 to unit 5 - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Read and listen to the story - Set the scene. - Play the tape for sts to listen and read. - Help sts get the idea of the story, simply let them read and listen to this episodes, the initial task will be more challenging. 2. Complete the conversation - Run through. - Ask sts to read the story in the book and fill the suitable words to complete the dialogue. - Ask sts to work in pairs to do the exercise then practice in pairs in front of the whole class. The rest listen to and give the remark. - Correct the pronunciation. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the story Key: 1. Who 2. My name’s 3. Yes, it is 4. How 5. very well, thank you. 3. Work in groups of three. Read the conversation. Then, act it out with your own names. - Tell the class that they are going to practise using their own names. - Ask groups of people to sit face to face and practise the dialogue. - Call on some pair to report. - Give feedback. Key: It’s up to sts. 4. Unscramble these words from the conversation. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Let sts read the sentences individually and do the task. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Pair works. Have sts trade their answers for correction. - Call on some pupils to report their answers. The rest of the class listen give comments. - Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Look, listen and repeat: - Run through and set the scene. - Give instruction. - Play the recording all the way through. - Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat. - Divide class into 2 groups to play roles and ask them to take turns. - Ask sts to do further practice in small groups. - Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues. Language note: What about you? is used when people do not want to repeat the previous question. E.g.What about you, Jack? In Picture d means Where’s your school, Jack? 2. Point and say. - Tell sts that they are going to pratise asking and answering question, using Where’s your school? It’s in + (place) - Have them to look at pictures to understand how the language is used. - Point to picture a and have sts repeat the date under the picture. - Elicit the sentence pattern from sts: Where’s your school? It’s in + (place) - Make model with sts. - Ask sts to work in pairs with the pictures then practise freely. - Move around to offer help. - Call on some pairs to perform the task. - Give feedback. III. Reinforcement: - Review the lesson. IV. Homelink - Ask sts to learn new words by heart and try to give and respond to instructions.
