I. Aims
By the end of the lesson Ps can: 
- Use the words and prrases releted to the topic introduction.
- Introduce someone, using this is + (name).
II. Language focus:
 * Sentences patterns: This is Tony
 * Vocabularies: This
III. Teaching aids:
Text book, Picture, cassette, CD, workbook, puppets
VI. Procedure. 
A. Warm up: 
Greet the class by saying Hello. How are you? What’s your name?
Then play a game. “slap the board” with some words and sentences you have learnt in unit one and two.
B. Main lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat: 
Tell Ps that they are going to practise introducing someone, using This is + (name) Elicit the name of the teacher and two Ps and what they say. Give feedback. Have Ps repeat the text in the bubbles a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture 
Do choral and individual repetition, poiting to the charecters speaking.
 Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along
2. Point and say. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise introducing someone, using This is + (name) and responding to that introduction. Draw Ps attention to the picture. Point to each character and elicit the name and the word to fill the gaps. Give explanation, if necessary write the sentences on the board and have Ps repeat them a few times.
Do choral and individual repetition, pointing the characters’ speaking.
Get Ps to work in pair to practise the language. check as the class
3. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Elicit the the word to fill the gaps. Write the sentences on the board and have Ps repeat them a few times. 
Get Ps to work in groups of four, using the characters’ names in the book or their own name. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
Call a groups of four tothe front of the class to act out the introduction.

 Language note: 
Draw Ps’attention to the linking between two words (eg this is) when speaking.

A. Warm up: 
Revising What’s your name? My name’s + name, how are you? Fine,thanks..then play the game wishper
B. Main lesson
4. Listen and tick: 
Tell Ps that they are going the correct boxes. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture. Elicit the names of the characters and what they might say to once another. Give feedback.
Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers. 
Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.

5. Look and write. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to look at the pictures and fill the gaps with I’m and Hello. Give Ps a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the texts in the silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. Elicit the word at the gaps.
Remind Ps to write the initial letter of the word at the beginning of each sentence in capital letters.
Get Ps to swap and check their answers before calling to open pairsto read alloud the dialogues. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to coppy down into their notebooks

6. Let’s sing.
- Tell Ps that they are going to sing the How are you? song following the procedure in the Teaching the unit components in the introduction.
Sing each line of the songhave Ps repeat a few times.
Ask group of Ps to sit face to face and practise singing and clapping.
Divide the class into three groups and sing the song in this way.
C. Consodilation
Language note: 
Have the class sing the song again to reiforce learning.

A. Warm up: 
Tell Ps that they have to remember the words you have learnt then we are going to play a game “Bingo”
B. Main lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat: 
- Tell Ps that they are going to ask and answer question about someone, Give Ps a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the texts. Point to the first picture and elicit what each character says. Give feedback and have Ps repeat the the text a few times. Repeat the procedurewith the second piture.
- Do choral and individual repetition, poiting to the charecters speaking.
 Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along.

- Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering question about someone, using Is that + (name)? Point to Picture a and elicit the name of the characterand what is said about him. Give feedback and put the question and answer on the board. Have Ps repeat each of the sentences a few times. Repeat the procedure with the other pictures.
- Do choral and individual repetition, poiting to the charecters.
- Get Ps to work in pair. Check as the class

Spend a few munites revising the language learnt by playing a game of slap the board, using the characters cards. Read the Activities Bank in the introduction for more activities.
B. Main lesson
4. Listen and number: 
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and. Draw Ps’attention to the picture. Check their understanding by elicit the name of the character in each picture. 
Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the tesk and check their answers. 
Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.

- Tell Ps that they are going to look at the pictures and read and answer the questions. Give Ps a few seconds to read and look at the pictures. Check comprehension and elicit the name of each character.
Get Ps time to do the task and go around to offer help, if necessary. 
Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to coppy down into their notebooks.
Call a few pairs to read the dialogues aloud.

6. Let’s play
- Tell Ps that they are going to play the Line-up follow the procedure in Activities Bank in the introduction. Explain to Ps how to play the game and check understanding. Get two groups to demonstrate the game.
- Start the gameand put the scores and the correct sentences on the board
At the end of the game, have class say Congratulation!to the winning group and read the sentences on the board.

VI. Procedure. 
A. Warm up: 
Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson and get Ps to sing the How are you?
B. Main lesson
1. Listen and repeat.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters t and y on the board and say them a few times. Aks Ps to repeat after you. Prompt Ps to say the words and sentences, paying attention to the target phonics letter. Do choral repetition of the words and sentences untils feel confident.
2. Listen and write. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation.
Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to coppy down into your notebooks.
 Get Ps to work in pairs and practice saying the sentences

3. Let’s chant: 
Tell Ps that they are going to say the Is that Nam? chant. Following the procedure in teaching the unitcomponents in the introduction. Read each line of the chant and check comprehension. 
Play the recording a few times for Ps to do choral and individual repetition each line.Then say the chant or play the recording all the way through
 Show Ps how to chant and do the actions. Call two groups of four to give a demonstation. 
Get groups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
Call a group to the front of the class to chant the question while the other Ps chant the answesr. Swap roles after the first round .

Language note:
Tell Ps to write the initial letters of the words startng a sentence or name of people in capital letters. 
E.g. That is Tony? Yes, it is. 
Write small letters for ather words in the sentence.

Get Ps swap and check their answer before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to coppy down into your notebooks.

Tell Ps that they are going to choose a and draw a picture of him or her check understanding. Get Ps to prepare necessary school things to carry the project (paper, pens, coloured pencils, scissors)
Give Ps time to do the project in class. Go around to offer help, if necessary, if there is not enough time, Aks Ps to do the project as homework.
Call Ps to the front of the class to present their drawings. Have Ps work in pairs, ask and answer about them using is that + name? Yes, it is /no, it isn’t.
Have Ps put their drawings on the wall of the classroom and conduct a poll for the best five drawings .
Have the class say Is that Nam/. Chant and sing the How are you/. Song to end the class.
