I. Warm up

- Let sts to play the game and find out the word.
- Lead in the new lesson.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss wil be able to: - Review asking and answering the question: How old are you? - Develop writing and reading, speaking and writing skills. II. Teaching aids: - Teacher: Teacher’s book, student’s book, computer .... - Students: Student’s book, notebook, pen, ruler, colour paper... III. Procedures * Warm up: Game: Lucky number 1. eight 2. Seven 3. Nine 4. Lucky number 5. Ten 6. six Activity 1: 4. Read and match - Guide Ss how to match the task. - Read and match in groups of four. - Share their answers by change the answer. - Feedback by correct the answer of one group. - Game: Passing ball to read again. * Key: 1.c 2.a 3.b Activity 2: 5. Read and write - Explain how to write in pairs. - Think and fill in the gaps. - Share and feedback. * Keys: 1. How old/ I’m 2. How old/ I’m / Years old * Ask ss to make the dialogue to ask and anser about age: Forexample: Hoa: Hello, Nga. Nga: Hi, Hoa. Hoa: How old are you? Nga: I’m ten years old. How about you? Hoa: I’m ten. Goodbye, Nga. Nga: Goodbye, Hoa. ** SS’assessment: correctly, fast, carefully, beautifully Activity 3: 6. Project : Talk to your friends. II. New lesson 1. Vocabulary - One: 1 - Six: 6 - Two: 2 - Seven: 7 (using flash cards) - Three: 3 - Eight: 8 - Four: 4 - Nine: 9 - Five: 5 - Ten: 10 * Checking vocabulary: Slapon the board. 2. Look, Listen and repeat. - Have sts to look at the book at page 26. - Elicit the character and have sts to guess what they are saying. - Set the scene. - Have sts to listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times. - Divide the class into three groups. One repeat Mai’s part and the others repeat Nam’s part and teacher’s part. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Point and say - Have sts to look at the pictures on page 26 - Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names. Ask sts to guess and complete the speech bubbles. - Elicit the structures: How old are you? - I’m eight years old. - Model the parts of characters Miss Hien and Tom to sts. - Ask sts to act out the dialogue1. Repeat the step with some other pairs for pictures - Have sts to practise acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures. - Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The others observe and give comments. - Have the whole class to repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. III. Reinforcement. Let’s talk: - Show picture and give task. - Have sts to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about someone’s age. - Display in class, others comment. - Listen and correct. IV. Homework - Ask sts to learn new words by heart. V. Comment Week:8 Teaching date: 12/ 11/ 2020 Period: 27. Unit 4: How old are you? Lesson 2: 4, 5, 6 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Ask and answer about someone’s age. B. Language focus - Vocabulary: Review - Sentence Patterns: Review C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up * Game: What and where (Using numbers from one to ten) - Let sts to play the game and say aloud numbers. - Ask sts to ask and answer questions about someone’s age. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Listen and write - Have sts to look at pictures a, b, c and d on page of the Student Book. - Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. - Give instruction. - Before listening, ask sts to guess the answer. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the missing words. - Check sts’ guess. Ask them to compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Ask some sts to report. - Give feedback. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. Read and tick - Ask sts to identify the characters in the pictures on page 27. - Set the scene. - Ask sts to read the dialogues and do the task (match the sentence with an appropriate picture.) - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Have sts trade the answers in pairs for correction. - Call on some sts to report their answers. Others listen and comment. - Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences. - Have the whole class to read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Key: 1 – 6; 2 – 8; 3 - 10; 4 - 10 3. Let’s sing - Introduce the song: Let’s count from one to ten on Page 27. - Play the recording for sts to listen to the song. - Play the recording again for sts to sing each line of the rhythm. - Call on a group of six to the front of the class and do the actions. The others clap their hands after the song. - Ask sts to practise in groups. III. Reinforcement. - Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm. - Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation. IV. Homework - Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook. V. Comment Week: 8. Teaching date: 13/ 11/ 2020 Period: 28. Unit 4: How old are you? Lesson 3: 1, 2, 3 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Ask and answer about someone’s age. - Pronounce the sounds in the letters /f/, /s/ correctly. B. Language focus - Vocabulary: Review - Sentence Patterns: Review C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up Chatting: - Ask sts to ask and answer question about someone and someone’s age. - Give feedback. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Listen and repeat - Ask sts to open the book on page 28. - Run through. - Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role. Focus sts’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words five and six. - Introduce and pronounce the sounds /f/ and /s/ a few times as a model. - Have sts to practice the sounds carefully - Play the CD and have sts to read the chant in chorus. - Ask sts to give which sounds in Vietnamese are similar to, and then have sts to repeat the words. + Ask some pairs to ask and answer. + Have sts recite the chant and clap the syllable to reinforce their pronunciation. 2. Listen and write - Have sts to look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank. - Play the recording twice for sts to listen and fill the blanks. Check their guess. - Ask sts to compare the answer with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Get sts to report. - Give feedback. - Have sts to act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. Let’s chant - Introduce the chant How are you?. - Turn on the tape. - Ask sts to listen to the tape and repeat the chant. - Ask sts to chant in groups and individual. - Teacher reinforce their pronunciation III.
