I. Warm up.
- Call a group of 4 sts to come to the boards and introduce their friends.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Listen and tick
- Have sts to open the book page 19, and describe the pictures.
- Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording, match the information and tick the correct picture.”
- 1st: Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books.
- 2nd: Play the recording for sts to listen and tick the correct pictures.
- Have sts to trade their answers in pairs for correction.
- 3rd: play the recording for sts to check their answers.
- Give feedback.
- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

Warm up. - Spend some minute to sing the song: alphabet and say the chant what´ your name? - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Read and match - Ask sts to open their book on page 17. - Give instruction. - Ask sts to read the sentences individually and do the task. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call on some sts to report their answers. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the dialogue. - Have the whole class chorally read each line of the sentences to reinforce their pronunciation. Read and complete - Ask sts to turn to part 5 on page 17. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Give sts a few seconds to read the text, the words in silence then check sts’ comprehension. - Ask sts to complete the sentences individually. - Control the activity. - Get sts to compare their answers with their partners. - Call on some sts to report. - Check and correct mistakes. What’s your name? - Have the SS stick their cards on the wall of the classroom. III. Reinforcement - Ask sts to recall what they have learnt. - Comment. IV. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. * Game: Matching pictures (Using pictures of characters in the book) - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to look at the picture at the top of page 18 and describe it. - Give instruction. - Play the recording through for sts to listen as they follow the dialogue. - Ask sts to listen again and repeat line by line. - Let sts practise in groups. - Call on some groups to perform in front of the class. - Give comment 2. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures on page 18 and identify the characters - Explain the pattern + This is + name. - Write the whole sentence on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times - Repeat the steps with the second character. - Ask sts to work with whole class in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice. - Listen and correct. 3. Let’s talk: - Run through. - Ask sts to guess what the children say then fill the gap and write on the board. - Ask sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Ask sts to use the names in their books or their real names to practice. - Ask sts to practice in small groups. - Call someone to perform at the front of the class. - Comment III. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Ask and answer the yes/ no questions about someone using: Is this.../ Is that...+ name? B. Language focus - Structure: Is this.../ Is that...+ name? Yes, it is/ No, it isn´t. C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. - Let sts sing the song “How are you?” - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to open the book on page 20. - Give instruction. - Check sts to understand. - Procedure the first picture and explain what they say. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Play the recording through for sts to listen to the dialogue. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Divide the class into two groups and play a role. - Call on sts to practise in front of the class. - Give feedback. 2. Point and say. - Ask sts to look at the pictures: - Run through. - Give instruction. - Make model with sts. Is this.../ Is that...+ name? Yes it is or No, it isn´t. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. 3. Let’s talk. - Look at the picture and introduce. - Tell them that they are going practise more with their friends, using their own names. - In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book. - Have some sts to make a dialogue with their true names. - Call sts to work in pairs. - Do as example if the sts don’t understand. - Look the pic and then work in pairs with the name of pic before class. - Give feedback. III. Reinforcement. - Ask sts practise ask and answer the yes/ no questions about someone using: Is this.../ Is that...+ name? - Comment. IV. Homelink - Ask sts to do exercises A, B in their workbook.
