A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Ask and answer the questions about how to spell one´s name well.
- Develop speaking skill, listening skill.
- Pupils know how to play Hangman game.

Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
- Ask sts to sing the alphabet song.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Look, Listen and repeat
- Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 14.
- Run through.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books.
- Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times.
- Practise with sts.
- Divide the class into 2 groups to play a role.
- Ask sts to practise in pairs.
- Go round and check sts to be able to repeat and understand the dialogue.
2. Point and say
- Have pupils look at pictures.
- Run through.
- Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the phrases a few times.
How do you spell your name?
- Give instruction.
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit the name and the words to fill the gaps.
Week: 4. Teaching date: 19/ 10/ 2020 Period: 9. Unit 2: What’s your name? Lesson 1: 4, 5, 6 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Ask and answer questions about one’s name. - Develop writing skill, listening skill. - Pupils know how to sing the alphabet song. B. Language focus - Vocabulary: alphabet song - Review the structure: review C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. * Game: Rainbow - Some sts make two lines. Two first ones from each team hold hands. Some others go through the hands when the music plays. As the music stops, the pupils of Rainbow ask. The one who is caught must answer his/ her name. What is your name? My name’s _______. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Listen and tick - Run through. - Give instruction. - Draw their attention to the pictures. - Elicit the name of the characters. Have sts to repeat them once or twice. - Play the recording through for sts to listen. - Play the recording again for sts to listen and tick the correct answers. - Ask sts to exchange their answers with their partners before reporting them to the class. - Correct, remark. - Play the recording again for sts to repeat follow. Look and write - Ask sts to look at the pictures. - Tell sts what they are going to fill the gap following the pictures. - Ask sts to read individually silently and complete the dialogues. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Elicit the words filling the gaps. Remind sts to write the initial letter of the word at the beginning of each sentences in capital letters. - Allow sts time to do the task. Go around to offer help if necessary. - Ask sts to read their answers aloud to the class. - Correct, remark and give keys. 1. A: What’s your name? B: My name’s Peter. 2. A: I’m Mai. What’s your name? B: My name’s Linda. - Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues chorally to reinforce their pronunciation. IV. Reinforcement - Ask sts to open their Student’s book on page 13. - Stick the large- sized sheet of paper with the sing on page 7 on the board. - Tell them that they are going to sing The alphabet song. - Play the recording all the way through for sts to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of the song. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Play the recording once more for sts to repeat the whole song. - Call on some sts to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class clap their hands at rhythms. - Sing the song in the prepared clip. V. Homework - Ask sts to recite the song on page 13. V. Comment Week: 4. Let’s talk. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Draw the sts’ attention to the pictures and elicit the language that the characters might use. *Model: S1: What´ s your name? S2: My name´s................. S1: How do you spell your name? S2................. - Ask sts to practice as the model. - Get sts to work in pairs. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check sts’ pronunciation. IV. Reinforcement - Ask sts to spell their name. V. Homework - Ask sts to practise spell one’s name. V. Comment Week: 4. Teaching date: 22/ 10/ 2020 Period: 11. Unit 2: What’s your name? Lesson 2: 4, 5, 6 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Number the right picture by listening. - Read and match the dialogue correctly with the picture. - Write the completely sentences about asking, spelling name. B. Language focus - The vocabulary: Review - The structure: Review C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. * Game: slap the board: my,your,what,nam., - Find the winner - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Listen and number - Run through. - Give instruction. - Play the tape all the way through for sts to listen. - Ask sts to listen again and number. - Ask sts to compare with their partners. - Call on some sts to check their answers. - Give feedback by opening the tape once and check. Unit 2: What’s your name? Lesson 3: 1, 2, 3 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Pronounce the sound: /m/ and /p/ in the words: Mai, Peter well - Listen and write the correct words, and say the chant beautifully. B. Language focus - Phonics: m, p C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. * Game: sticky ball (With structure: how do you spell your name?) - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Listen and repeat - Run through and set the scene. - Have sts to open the book, draw their attention to the letters colored differently in the words Mai and Peter. - Produce the sound of the letter m and p - Have sts repeat the focused sounds a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to pronounce. - Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation. 2. Listen and write: - Run through. - Give instruction. - Play the tape twice. - Ask them to listen and write the answers. - Call someone to write on the board, check sts’ notebook. - Check and correct mistakes. - Ask sts to read aloud 2 sentences. Let´s chant: - Show the chart of the chant “What’s your name” - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the song and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in pairs. - Call each group, then pairs to perform. - Correct and comment. - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. III. Reinforcement - In this lesson, sts have learned how to pronounce 2 sounds / m/, /p/. IV. Homework - Have sts to further practice at home. - Be ready Unit 2 – Lesson 3(4.5.6) V. Comment
