Warm up:
1. Listen and repeat:
. Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters ea and aw on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words reading, drawing and sentences He’s reading and She’s drawing a picture. paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident.
2. Listen and write.
- T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation.
Monday, April 20th, 2021 Week 30 Period 119 Unit 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 2. Sections 1, 2, 3 A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic indoor activities; ask and answer the questions about what someone is doing, using What is he/ she doing? Skills : Listening and talking. Task: Look, listen and repeat; point and say; Let’s talk B. New language: Sentence patterns: What is he/ she doing? He’s/ She’s.. C. Procedures: Warm up: Play a game “hangman” ( playing) 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures . Who’re she? Linda Who is he? Peter. Where are they? They are in the house - Ask Ps to repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the charaters speaking. - Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along line by line. Sentence patterns: What is he doing? He’s doing his homework. 2. Point and say. - Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions using What is he’s/ she’s doing. Point to each picture and elicit the meaning of the words. singing : đang hát ( what am I doing?) drawing : đang vẽ playing the piano : đang chơi đàn watching TV : đang xem ti vi. - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and point to first picture and elicit the word to fill the gap. Put the sentences on the board . Example: Picture c: What is he doing? He’s playing the piano. - Have Ps repeat it a few times. - Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book. - Get Ps to practise in pairs. Check as a class. 3. Let’s talk. - Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. Point to a room and elicit the word filling the gap. Put the question and the answer on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition. Example: What is she doing? She’s drawing. - Have Ps work in pairs, Using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronounciation, If necessary. - Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. ==============******=============== Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 Week :30 Period :120 Unit 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Lesson 2. Sections 4, 5, 6 A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can be practised more in asking and answering about indoor activities. Skills: Listening and reading,writing. Tasks: Listen and number, Read and match and Let’s sing. B. Teaching aids : recordings. C. Procedures : Watching TV Warm up: What and where. cooking . drawing Playing the piano singing reading 4. Listen and number. How many pictures are there? (four) - Tell Ps that they are going to listen and number the correct boxes. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check understanding and give feedback. - Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Hoa: What’s she doing there?? Tony: She’s cooking - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Key: 1b, 2a, 3d, 4c. 5. Read and match. What are they on the left? ( Questions) What are they on the right? ( Answers) .Tell ps that they are going to read all the questions on the left and pairs them which those on the right by drawing a line between them. Draw Ps’ attention to the pictures and give them a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. Get Ps to work in pairs. . Give Ps time to do the matching. Let’s sing. - Tell Ps that they are going to sing the song I love my parents What is the song talking about? (Mummy and Daddy) - Sing each line of the lyrics and have Ps repeat it a few times. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence stuctures and vocabulary for reading and writing about activities. Skills : reading and writing. Tasks :Read and complete; Let’s write; Project. B. Procedures : Warm up: Have Ps to say and act out the Do you like toys? chant. 4. Read and complete. How many words are there?( five) What are they? Watching, is, listening, playing, in. - Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and use the given words to fill in the gaps. Ask Ps to read the text in silence for a few seconds. Check comprehension and give feedback. My name is Quan. Today my family (1) _________ at home. We are (2)_________ the living room. My father is (3)____________ TV. Project. - Tell Ps that they are going to look at the pictures and tell what the children are doing. -T gives the first picture and call a pair to ask and answer in front of the class. S1: What is he doing? S2: He is playing the piano. - Repeat the step with the rest pictures.
