 Lesson 1. Sections 1, 2, 3

A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic indoor activities; ask and answer the questions about what someone is doing, using What are you doing?

 Skills : Listening and talking.

 Task: Look,listen and repeat; point and say; Let’s talk

B. New language:

Vocabulary: reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning the floor.

Sentence patterns: What are you doing?

 I’m reading.

C. Procedures:

I.Warm up: Brainstorming (doing)

II.New lesson:

1. Look, listen and repeat.

- Tell Ps that they are going to ask and answer the question about toys

- Ask Ps look at part 1 on page 46.

 Who’s he? ( Nam)

 Who’s she ?( Hoa)

 Where are they? ( They are in the house)

. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and elicit what the characters say . Give the meaning of unfamiliar words and have Ps repeat the language a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.

- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the charaters speaking.

- Play the recording for Ps to listen and saying along.

Period:115 Unit 17: WHAT TOY DO YOU LIKE?
 Lesson 3: 1, 2, 3
A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can pronounce the sound of the leters i-e in the words kite and i in the word ship respectively.
Skills: Listening, writing and chanting.
Tasks: Listen and repeat; Listen and write; Let’s chant.
B. New language: 
Phonics : / i-e/
C. Procedures: 
I.Warm up: Checking old lesson.
II.New lesson:
1. Listen and repeat: 
. Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters i-e and i on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words kite, ship and sentences This is my kite and I like ship. paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident.
2. Listen and write.
- T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation.

- Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.T writes the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.
 - Get Ps work in pairs to practice saying the sentences.

3. Let’s chant.
- Tell Ps that they are going to say the Do you have any cats? chant. Teach the chant.
- Play the recording through for Ps to listen.
- Read each line of the chant and have Ps repeat it a few times. Show them how to say the chant and do the actions.
- Ask goups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.

Period:116 Unit 17: WHAT TOY DO YOU LIKE?
 Lesson 3: 4, 5, 6.
A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence stuctures and vocabulary for reading and writing about activities. 
Skills : reading and writing.
Tasks : Read and match; Read and complete; Project.
B. Procedures :
I.Warm up: Have Ps to say and act out the Do you like toys? chant.
II.New leson:
4. Read and match.
What are they on the left? ( Questions)
What are they on the right? ( Answers) 
.Tell ps that they are going to read all the questions on the left and pairs them which those on the right by drawing a line between them.
Do you like toys? a. Robots
What toys do you like? b. Nine
What pets do you like? c. Yes, I do
How many cats do you have? d. Cats.
 Draw Ps’ attention to the pictures and give them a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. Get Ps to work in pairs.
. Give Ps time to do the matching. T goes around to help
. Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
. Call a few pairs to read the dialogues.

5. Read and complete. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and fill in the appropriate words. Ask Ps to read the text in silence for a few seconds. Check comprehension and give feedback.
 I have many toys. I have five ___________ , three planes, and___________ yo-yos. My friend Mary has some pets. She ____________ two dogs and three ________. What about you? What toys do you __________? ___________ many pets do you have?
- Give time for Ps to do the task. Go around to help, if necessary.
- Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
- Call a few Ps to write their answers on the board. Correct their spelling, grammartical errors, if necessary.
 - Do choral and individual repetition of the sentences on the board.

.Tell Ps that they are going to draw and colour a picture of your pets and tell your class about it.
- Get Ps to prepare necessary school things to carry out the project ( colour pencils, craons, paper).
-Give Ps time to do the project in the class. Get Ps to work in groups. Go around to offer help,if necessary.

- If theree isn’t enough time , ask Ps to do the project at home as homework.

 How many pictures are there? ( four pictures)
 Point to each picture and elicit the meaning of the words.

- Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and point to first picture and elicit the word to fill the gap. Put the sentences on the board . 
Example: 
 Picture c: What are you doing?
 I’m listening to music.
- Have Ps repeat it a few times.
- Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book.
- Get Ps to practise in pairs. Check as a class.
3. Let’s talk. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. Point to a room and elicit the word filling the gap. Put the sentence and the response on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition.
Example: 
 What are you doing?
 I’m cleaning the floor.
 - Have Ps work in pairs, Using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronounciation, If necessary.
- Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.
- Practise saying

A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can use learned language to develop listening and writing skills about indoor activities.
Skills: Listening and reading,writingand singing.
Tasks: Listen and tick, Read and write and Let’s write.
B. Teaching aids : recordings.
C. Procedures : 
I.Warm up: Slap the board

II.New lesson:
4. Listen and tick.
a.Pre- listening.
- Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 47.
How many questions are there? ( three)
What are they talking about? ( toys)
 - Tell ss that they are going to listen to the recording, tick the information they hear with the correct pictures.
b. While - listening:
Audio script:
1. Hoa’s mother: where are you, Hoa?
 Hoa: I’m in my room.
 Hoa’s mother: What are you doing?
 Hoa: I’m reading.
 2. Nam’ mother: Where are you Nam?
 Nam: I’m in the livingroom.
 Nam’s mother: What are you doing?.
 Nam: I’m watching Tv
3. Mai’s mither: Where are you, Mai?
 Mai: I’m in the kitchen.
 Mai’s mother: What are you doing?
 Mai: I’m cooking.
 
- Play the recording all the way through for ss to listen, as they look closely at the pictures in their books
- Play the recording again for ss to listen and tick the correct pictures
- Replay the recording for ss to check their answers. Have ss trade their answer in groups for correction.
 Key: 1.b, 2.a, 3b.
c. Post- listening:
- Play the recording again for the whole to listen to reinforce their pronunciation.
Ask a few questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
- Repeat the step with some other pairs for the rest pictures
- Have ss practise acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures in their books. Monitor the activity and offer help. 
- Call on some perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation
5. Read and write.
a. Pre- reading:
- Whole class: have ss look at part 5, ask them to identify and describe the things in the pictures. 
Where is Mai’s family?( at home)
- Tell ss that they are going to read the text and use the information to fill in the gaps . 
b. While - reading.
- Have ss do the task individually and fill in the gaps, monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Have ss trade their answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some ss to report their answers, the rest of the class listen and give comments.
- Give answer keys: 1. reading	 
 2. is listening to music	 
 3. are cooking	
c. Post- reading:
- Have the whole class read each line of the texts in chorus to reinforce their pronuciation.
- Make a few questions to check ss’ comprehension of the sentences.
6. Let’s write.
- Tell ps that this is personalized activity in which ps write their answers using real facts.GivPs a few seconds to read the questions in silence. Call a Ps to give a demonstration of all questions before starting the activity.
Give Ps time to do the task.
- Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Call two Ps to write their answers on the board and correct the spelling and grammatical erros, if necessary.
