Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room?
Lesson 1: 1 - 3
A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about things that there are in a room , using Are there any + thing (plural) + location?
Skills : Listening and talking.
Task: Look, listen and repeat; point and say; Let’s talk
B. New language:
Vocabulary: map, sofa, wardrobe, cupboard.
Sentence patterns: Are there any chairs in the room?
Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t.
C. Procedures:
Warm up: - Have Ps to sing the song The poster and the ball or say the chant Where’s the book?
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions about if there is something in a room , using Are there any +thing (plural) + location?
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and elicit the name of the characters and what they say.
- Ask Ps to repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along line by line.
Sentence patterns: Are there any chairs in the room?
Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t.
Monday, March 1st 2021 Week:23 Period:87 Unit 13: Where’s my book? Lesson 3 : 1 – 3 A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can pronounce the sound of the leters ch and wh in the words chair and where respectively. Skills: Listening, writing and chanting. Tasks: Listen and repeat; Listen and write; Let’s chant. B. New language: Phonics : / ch/; /wh/. C. Procedures: I.Warm up: Checking old lesson. II.New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat: -Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters ch and wh on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words chair, where and sentences It’s under the chair and Where’s the ball? paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident. 2. Listen and write. - T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation. - Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class. T writes the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks. - Get Ps work in pairs to practice saying the sentences. Key : 1. Where 2. chair 3. Let’s chant. - Tell Ps that they are going to say the Where’s the book? chant. Teach the chant. - Play the recording through for Ps to listen. - Read each line of the chant and have Ps repeat it a few times. Show them how to say the chant and do the actions. - Ask groups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. D. Homelink. - Practise chanting and doing the actions. ==================******=================== Wednesday, March 3rd 2021 Week:23 Period:88 Unit 13: Where’s my book? Lesson 3 : 4 - 6 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence structures and vocabulary for reading and writing about activities. Skills : reading and writing. Tasks : Read and tick; Read and write; Project. B. Procedures : I. Warm up: Have Ps to say and act out the Where’s the book? chant. II.New lesson: 4. Read and tick. - Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and tick the correct picture. Give them a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give time for Ps to do the task. - Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Key: picture c 5. Read and write - Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and complete the conversation about their own bedrooms. Ask Ps to look at the picture and read the text in silence for a few seconds. Check comprehension and give feedback. - Role-play the dialogue with a few pupils, where you play “your friend”. - Give time for Ps to do the task. Go around for help, if necessary. - Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Call a few Ps to write their answers on the board. Correct their spelling, grammartical errors, if necessary. - Do choral and individual repetition of the sentences on the board. 6. Project. .Tell Ps that they are going to draw and colour a picture of their bedrooms and describe them to the class. - Get Ps to prepare necessary school things to carry out the project (colour pencils, crayons, paper). -Give Ps time to do the project in the class. Get Ps to work in groups. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - If there isn’t enough time , ask Ps to do the project at home as homework. -Call a few Ps to the front the class to show their pictures and describe them. - Have Ps to sing the song The poster and the ball or say the chant Where’s the book? to end the class. Note: Raising tone in question and falling in the answer. Are there any + plural nouns. 3. Let’s talk. - Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. Point to a room and elicit the word filling the gap. Put the question and the answer on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition. Example: Are there any chairs in the room? Yes, there are/ No, there aren’t. - Have Ps work in pairs, using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, If necessary. - Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. D. Homelink. Learn by heart the words and practise the questions and answers in section 2 ==================******================== Friday, March 5th 2021 Week 23 Period 90 Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room? Lesson 1: 4- 6 A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can be practised more in asking and answering about things that there are in a room, using Are there any + thing (plural) + location? through listening and writing skills Skills: Listening and reading, writing. Tasks: Listen and tick, Look, read and write and Let’s write. B. Teaching aids : recordings. C. Procedures : I. Warm up: Ask Ps to take out their pen and notebooks to do a dictation. T reads: This is my room. It’s small. There is a bed and a desk. There’re chairs near the desk. There’s a map on the wall. There’re two posters in the room. II,New lesson: 4. Listen and tick. - Tell Ps that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check understanding and give feedback. - Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Audio script: 1. Peter: This is a picture of my living room. It’s large. Mai: Are there any maps in the room? Peter: Yes, there are two. 2. Peter: This is a picture of my bedroom. Mai: Are there any sofas in the room? Peter: No, there aren’t any. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Key: 1a, 2b. 5. Look read and write. - Tell Ps that they are going to look at the pictures and fill the gaps. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and read the text. Check comprehension and give feedback. Point to the first picture and elicit the words filling the gap as an example before starting the activity. Get Ps to work in pairs. - Give Ps time to do the task. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before calling different individuals to read the sentences aloud. - Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to correct other’s answer. Key: 2.cupboard 3. map 4. chair - Call individual Ps to read the sentences aloud. 6. Let’s write. - Tell Ps that they are going to read questions and write the answers about their own room. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text. Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give Ps time to do the task. Get Ps to work in pairs. - Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Get Ps to swap and check their answers before calling different individuals to read aloud. - Then call a few ps to write their answers on the board and correct their spelling, grammartical errors, if necessary. D. Homelink. - Write section 3 in your notebooks.
