D. Procedure:
I. Warm - up:
- Revise Hello/Hi. I’m + name.
- Get individuals or pairs to act out the greetings and responses in front of the class.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and tick.
- Have sts to open the book page 7, and describe the pictures.
- Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording, match the information and tick the correct picture.”
- 1st: Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books
- 2nd: Play the recording for sts to listen and tick the correct pictures.
- Have sts trade their answers in pairs for correction
- 3rd: play the recording for sts to check their answers.
- Give feedback.
- Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text.

Preparation: - Teacher: Text book, lesson plan,... - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, reference books... C. Procedure: I. Organization: - Greeting - Checking attendance II. Warm-up: * Chatting: - Introduce teacher’s name and chat with sts about name in Vietnamese. III. New lesson: Activity 1: The importance of English - In groups of 4, sts discuss the importance of English. Activity 2: Classroom rules Teacher says about the classroom rules in Vietnamese. During lesson. Pay attention to the lesson, give ideas. Practise in English. Join to activities during the lesson. At home. Learn by heart vocabulary, grammar and write examples. Read the dialogue. Do exercises in the workbook. Prepare next lesson. Activity 3: Classroom commands - Teacher use TPR – Sts look, listen and act Stand up, sit down, open the book, close the book, come in, go out, come here, come back to (turn) your seat, look, listen, repeat, read, write, sing. IV. Consolidation: Game: Simon says Teacher explains the rules of the game and makes sure sts understand that they must hear “Simon says” to perform the action. If not, they should do nothing. Week: 2. Teaching date: 30/ 9/ 2020 Period: 2. Unit 1: Hello Lesson 1: Part 1, 2, 3 A. Objects: - Sts will be able to greet and self-introduce. B. Language focus: - Phonics: Hello. Hi - Vocabulary: Hi, Hello. Sentence Patterns: Hello. I’m Mai. Hi, Mai. Nice to meet you C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students. D. Procedure: I. Warm up: - Say hello to the class and introduce yourself, using Hello, I’m + your name. - Walk around the class to say hello again to some pupils and ask them to answer. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson. Look, listen and repeat: - Ask sts to open their book on page 6. - Ask sts the name of the characters. - Use a poster to present the context. - Play the recording twice. - Ask sts to repeat a few times. - Call on two pairs to play roles. - Ask sts to practice in pairs. - Call some pair to perform. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. - Teach the vocabularies: + hello / hi + I’m = I am + nice to meet you * Note: + Hi is very informal. Sts can use with friends but not with an adult + Hello is also informal and friendly but more formal than Hi. It can be used with teachers and other adults. 2. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures on page 6 and identify the characters - Explain the pattern + Hello. I’m _______. + Hello, _________. I’m ________. - Ask sts about what they fill in the blanks. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call on some pairs to perform the task. - Comment and correct the mistake 3. Let’s talk: - Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 6 and identify the characters. - Guide sts to practice greeting and self-introducing. - Ask sts to use the names in their books or their real names to practice. - Ask sts to practice in small groups. - Call someone to perform at the front of the class. - Comment III. Reinforcement - Ask ss to repeat the vocabulary and the structure. * vocabularies: Hello/hi : xin chào I am = I’m : tôi là Nice to meet you: rất vui được gặp bạn. * structure: Hello/hi +I’m + name Hello/ hi + I’m + name. - Copy the vocabularies and the structure down. - Call sts to greet each other, and self - introduce. - Comment. Reinforcement: - Call a st to greet each other and self - introduce. - Educate sts to say hello when they meet others. IV. Homelink: - Recite the song and further practice at home. - Be ready Unit 1 – Lesson 2(1.2.3) Week: 3. Teaching date: 2/ 10/ 2020 Period: 4. Unit 1: Hello Lesson 2: Part 1, 2, 3 A. Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Greet and respond to greetings, using How are you? And I’m fine, thanks. And you? - Say goodbye using Goodbye/Bye. B. Language focus - Vocabulary: fine, thanks, thank you, bye, goodbye. - Structure: How are you? I’m fine, thanks. And you? C. Resources: Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. D. Procedure: I. Warm up. - Get the class to sing the Hello song. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the picture and ask some questions about the situations in the picture: + Who are they in the picture? + Where are they?..... * Teach vocabularies: goodbye, bye, fine, thanks,thank you. - Tell sts that they are going to practise saying and responding to Hello/ Hi + ( name) and How are you?. - Check sts to understand. - Procedure the first picture and explain what they say. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Play the recording through for sts to listen to the dialogue. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for sts to repeat. - Divide the class into two groups: one group to repeat Nam’s and the Mai’s part. - Call on sts to practise in front of the class. - Give feedback. * Language note: Tell pupils that they say Goodbye to their teachers or adults and Bye to their friends or peers. 2. Point and say. - Tell ss that they are going to saying How are you? and replying with Fine, thanks/thank you. - Ask sts to look at the pictures: - Give instruction. - Draw sts’ attention to the pictures. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts to work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. 3. Let’s talk. - Look at the picture and introduce. - Tell them that they are going practise more with their friends, using their own names. - In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book. - Have some sts to make a dialogue with their true names. - Call sts to work in pairs. - Do as example if the sts don’t understand. - Look the pic and then work in pairs with the name of pic before class. - Give feedback. III. Reinforcement. Ask ss to repeat the vocabulary and structure. * Vocabulary: goodbye = bye : tạm biệt Fine (adj): khỏe Thank you = thanks : cảm ơn. * structure: How are you? I’m fine,thanks/thank you. - Ask sts practise greeting using Hello/ Hi, . How are you? I’m fine, thank you. - Comment. IV. Homelink - Ask sts to do exercises A, B in their workbook.
