 Lesson 3. Sections 1, 2, 3.

A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can pronounce the sound of the leters g and l in the words gym and look respectively.

Skills: Listening and singing.

Tasks: Listen and repeat; Listen and write; Let’s chant.

B. New language:

Phonics : / g/; /l /.

C. Procedures:

I.Warm up: slap the board,

II.New lesson:

1. Listen and repeat:

. Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters g and l on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words gym, look and sentences The gym is old/ Look at the school. paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident.

2. Listen and write:

- T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation.

- Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.T writes the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.

 - Get Ps work in pairs to practice saying the sentences.

 Lesson 2. Sections 4, 5, 6
A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can use learned language to develop listening, reading and writing skills in asking for permission.
Skills : Listening, reading and writing.
Tasks: Listen and number; Read and circle and Write about your school.
B. Procedures: 
I.Warm up: Play the Hangman game .( classroom)
II.New lesson:
4. Listen and number.
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and number the pictures. Give few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check understanding and give feedback.
- Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers.
Audio script:
Tom: Is your school new?
 Linda: No, It isn’t. It’s old.
Tom: Is the library big?
Linda: Yes, it is.
Tom: Is your classroom big?
Linda: No, it isn’t. It’s small.
Tom: Is the school gym large?
Linda: Yes, it is.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
Key: 1b, 2d, 3a, 4c.
5. Read and circle.
 - Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and circle the correct words. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and read the text. Check comprehension. Gte Ps to work in pairs.
- Give Ps time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to coppy down into their notebooks.
- Call individual Ps to read the sentences aloud.

6. Write about your school.
- Tell Ps that they are going to write about their school. Give a few sconds for Ps to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback.
- Give Ps time to do the task.
- Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
- Call four Ps to write their answers on the board, each writing the answer to one of the four questions.
D. Homlink.
- Complete your writing on your notebooks.

- Tell Ps that they are going to say the Is your school new? Chant. Teach the chant. Read each line of the chant and have Ps repeat it a few times. Show them how to say the chant and do the actions.
- Asoups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.

A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence stuctures and vocabulary for reading and writing .
Skills : reading and writing.
Tasks : Read and match;Read and complete; Project.
B. Procedures :
I. Warm up: Have Ps to sing and act out the Is your school new? chant.
 II.New lesson:
4. Read and match. 
.Tell ps that they are going to read all the sentences on the left and pairs them which those on the right by drawing a line between them. Draw Ps’ attention to the pictures and give them a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. Get Ps to work in pairs.
. Give Ps time to do the matching. T goes around to help
. Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
. Call a few pairs to read the dialogues.
 Key: 1d ce 3a 4b .
5. Read and complete.
- Tell Ps that they are going to read and fill the gaps. 
- Give a few seconds for Ps to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback.
- Give Ps time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.
- Do choral and individual repetition..

. Have a group of four pupils to demonstrate in front of the class before starting the activity..

. Call several Ps to the front of the class to present their lables. 
 For example: This is gym.
. Have the class play the gae of Simon says using the instructions and end the class with the Come in and sit down song.

 Unit 8:THIS IS MY PEN
 Lesson 1. Sections 1,2,3
A. Objectives.
By the end of the period, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic Scool things. And identify school things, using This/ That is + ( school things) .
 Skills: Listening , talking.
 Tasks: Look, listen and repeat, Point and say, Let’s talk.
B. New language: 
 Vocabulary: pen, rubber, pencil, pencil case, school bag, notebook, pencil sharpener.
 Structures: This/ That is + ( school thing).
C. Procedures :
I.Warm up: Chant: Is your school new?
II.New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Tell Ps that they are going topractise talking about the school things, using This/That’s+ (school thing). Point to the first picture and elicit the name of the characters, and what they are saying. Have Ps repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the charaters speaking.
- Play the recording for Ps to listen and saying along.
* Note: Tell ps that Is it? In the first picture means Is it your pen? And Is it? In the second picture means Is it your rubber?
2. Point and say.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying This/That is + ( school thing). Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and read the text. Have Ps repeat the new words a few times. Point to the picture and elicit the word to fill the gap. Put the sentence on the board. 
Example: picture a. This is my pencil.
 picture d. That’s my notebook.
- Have Ps repeat it a few times.
- Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book.
- Get Ps to practise in pairs. Check as a class.
3. Let’s talk.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and check their understanding by eliciting the name of each school things. Ask Ps to fill in the blank. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition.
Example: This is my pencil.
 That’s my school bag.
- Have Ps work in pairs, Using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronounciation, If necessary.
- Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class

Practise saying ; This/That is + ( school thing).
