A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:

- Ask for and give permission.

B. Language focus

- Vocabulary: speak, write, May I , can, can’t

- Sentence Patterns: May I come in, Mr Loc? – Yes, you can.

 May I go out, Mr Loc? – No, you can’t.

C. Resources:

Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.

D. Procedure:

I. Warm up.

* Game: Order the words.

(Using the instruction they have learnt)

- Ask sts to play the game in groups of six.

- Give feedback.

- Lead in the new lesson.

II. New lesson

1. Listen and number

- Have sts look at pictures a, b, c and d on page 43 of the Student Book.

- Run through.

- Give instruction.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and number the boxes.

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.

- Ask sts to compare with their partners.

- Call on some sts to report.

- Give feedback.

- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Read and match

- Ask sts to identify the characters in the pictures on page 43.

- Set the scene.

- Have a revision of the language:

- Ask sts to read the dialogues and do the task.

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.

- Have sts trade the answers in pairs for correction

- Call on some sts to report their answers. Others listen and comment.

- Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences.

- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation

- Sentence patterns: Review.
C. Resources:
Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
* Game: Simon says
(Using the new words from the last period.)
- Lead in the new lesson.	
II. New lesson
1. Listen and tick
- Have sts look at pictures 1, 2 and 3 on page 41 of the Student Book. 
- Run through.
- Tell sts that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. Guess the answer.
- Play the recording 2 times for sts to listen and tick the boxes. Check their guess. 
- Ask sts to compare the answer with the partner.	
- Play the recording again sts check their answers. 
- Announce the answer.
- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Look and write
- Have sts open their books to page 41. 
- Get sts to identify the characters in the pictures and what they are saying.
- Give instruction.
- Let sts read silently and complete the dialogues.
- Monitor the activity.
- Ask sts to trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction
- Ask sts to read the answers aloud to the class. The others listen and give comments.
- Give feedback.

- Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the reading text.
- Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues chorally to reinforce their pronunciation. 
III. Reinforcement.
- Ask sts to work in groups of four to play a role. One plays teacher’s part and others play sts’ part. Then ask sts to take turns.
- Control the activity.
- Call on some groups to report.
- Comment.	
IV. Homework
- Ask sts to do exercises in the workbook.

I. Warm up.

II. New lesson
1. Teach vocabulary:

can’t = cannot: Không thể
2. Look, listen and repeat
- Whole class. Have sts look at their books (Page 42). 
- Set the scene.
- Play the recording to sts to listen the dialogue one time.
- Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times.
- Divide the class into two groups. One repeats Hoai’s part and the other repeats Mr Loc’ part.
- Ask sts to do choral and individual repetion, point to the pictures.
- Elicit the structures from sts:
 May I + V.
 Yes, you can/ No, you can’t.
3. Point and say
- Have sts look at the pictures on page 42.
- Run through the words.
- T: makes model a example and put the question and answer on the board. Ask repeat them afew times
- Have sts practice acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures a, b, c, d.
- Monitor the activity and offer held. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The others observe and give comments.. 
4. Let’s talk: 
- Tell sts that they are going to practise more with their friends.
- Give some words under the pictures.
- Run throught the words.
- T: makes model a example and put the question and answer on the board. Ask repeat them afew times.
- Have sts practice acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures a, b, c, d.
- Monitor the activity and offer held. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.

A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: 
- Give and respond to instructions, ask for and give permission.
- Pronounce the sounds in the letters /k/, /d/ correctly.
B. Language focus
- Phonics: come, down
C. Resources:
Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
* Game: Jumbled words.
(Using the words they have learnt: come, down, book, open, can, may)
- Ask sts to play the game in groups of 4.
- Give feedback.
- Lead in the new lesson.	
II. New lesson
1. Listen and repeat
- Tell pupils thatthey are going to practise saying the leters, words and sentences in the book.
- Put the phonics leters c and d on the board and say them afew times. Ask pupilsto repeat after you. Promt pupils to say the words and sentences, paying attention to the targetphonics letter. Do choral repetition of the words and sentences until pupils feel confident .
2. Listen and write
- Have sts look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank. 
- Check their guess.
- Play the recording 2 times for sts to listen and fill the blanks. Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner.	
- Play the recording again for sts check their answers. 
- Have pupils work in pairs and practise saying the sentences.

6. Let’s sing
- Introduce the song.
- Give instruction.
- Read the song and check coprehension. Then play the recording all the way through.
- Have pupils do choral and individual repetition of each line. When pupils are familiar with the tune, show them how to sing the song and do the actions.
- Get groups of pupils to sit face and practise singing and doing the actions.
- Call two groups of four to come to the front of the class: one group sings the first two lines, the other sings the next three lines, and have the whole class sing the last line together.
- Have the whole class sing the song to reinforce learning.
III. Reinforcement.
- Ask sts to sing the song.
- Comment.	
IV. Comment
