I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to distinguish the sounds / pt /, /bd /, / ps / and /bz /, and learn about the cleft-sentences.

I. WARM UP Pictures
- T shows the pictures and asks ss to give the name of each and write on the board
- T underlines the vowel- sounds to help ss recognize the sounds
 stamps /ps/ stopped /pt/ bribes/ bs/ robbed /bd/ 
- T introduce 3 sounds and the lesson.
II. PRONUNCIATION
- T gives some words have the sound / pt /, /bd /, / ps / and /bz /, and asks ss to read out loud in class

- T shows the picture and situation and asks these questions by setting the scene.
- T gives examples to explain

+ adverbial focus:
 It was last month that the boy visited his uncle
- T calls on some Ss to comment on these examples
