Writing a description of a location
- T asks ss to write a short description of Cat Ba National Park, using following prompts

III.PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. WARM- UP Pictures -T asks ss to work in 2 groups and answer the questions What do you know about the place in the picture? Have you ever been to Cat Ba Island? What are its special features? - T checks the answers and gives the feedback. - T leads into the lesson. II. PRE-WRITING *TASK 1: ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS -T asks ss to read the information in textbook and answer some questions Cat Ba National Park. - T calls on some ss to practice ask and answer in class. 1. Where is Cat Ba National Park located? 2. What are the features of Cat Ba National Park? 3. How large is it? 4. What do you know about the animals and plants in Cat Ba National Park? 5. What are some of historic features of the parks? III. Cat Ba National Park is the only site in VN endowed with both tropical forests and coastal waters with while sand beaches, abundant natural resources, beautiful landscapes and many kinds of rare animals and plants. It covers 15.200 ha, including 9,800 ha of ocean. Cat Ba National Park preserves approximately 300 species of fish, 40 kinds of animals, 150 different birds and 620 species of plants The stone tools and human bones found in the island’s limestone caves reveal that people inhabited there at least 6,000 years old. - Take notes In Southeast Asian, many forests have been cut down to produce timber and to clear land for farms and industries. The destruction of forests has reduced the living space of wildlife. Much of Asian’s wildlife is also threatened by over- hunting. Many people kill animals for food or hunt them to sell to zoo, medical research, and pet trader. Because of habitat destruction and over- hunting, many large Asian animals, including elephants, rhinoceroses, and tigers, have become endangered. In China, people have cut down most of the forests for wood, which has caused serious soil erosion. The soil is deposited in rivers and streams, which lowers the quality of the water. The Huang He, or Yellow River, is so named because the light- coloured soil gives the water a yellowish colour. The soil has also raised the riverbed. As a result, the Huang He often floods, causing great property damage and loss of life along its banks.
