LESSON 3: LISTENING
I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know that national parks are in danger of being destroyed.
II.TEACHING AIDS: textbook, pictures, handout.
III.PROCEDURES:

I.WARM- UP Pictures
-T asks ss to work in groups and name the place in each picture. 
- T leads into the lesson.
II. PRE-LISTENING

III. WHILE- LISTENING
* TASK 1: T/F statements
- T asks ss to listen to the passage and decide if the statements are true or false.
- T plays the tape one or two more times and pauses at the answer for them to catch the information.
- T asks ss to work in pair to compare the answers.
- T asks ss to give the answers in class, then asks them to listen again and check the answers.
TASK 2: 
- T runs through the questions 
- T plays the tape again for ss to do the task.
- T gets ss to work in pairs and check their answers
- T calls on some ss to give the answers and elicits feedback from other ss. 
1. How many national parks are there in the United States?
2. How many people visit national parks every year?
3. Can you name some of the problem which national parks are currently facing?
4. What should be done to protect them?
IV. POST –LISTENING 
- T asks ss to work in groups and look at the picture and answer the questions:
1. What are the pictures about? Are they in the forest or a national park?
2. What can you see in the pictures?
3. Why do governments set up these places?
- T checks and corrects the answers.
V. HOMEWORK
 T asks ss to learn vocabulary and prepare the next lesson.
- Work in groups.
- Look at the pictures and answer the T’s question.
- Give feedback to the others.
