I. Objectives:
	- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know about some places Lan went to with a foreign friend and some activities they took part in together.
- Focus on reading and speaking skills.
II. Teaching aids:
- Lesson plan, text book. 
- Pictures: T.A 9-17,26,23.

 III. Procedure:
 1. Warm up

- Do you have any pen pals? Where does she/he live?
Has she/he ever visited your city? 
What activities would you do during the visit?
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures on pages 6, tell which place is it and listen to the teacher.

Pre-teach vocabulary:
* Vocabulary game: Guess the words 
- Have Ss listen to the tape and look at the book.
- Present the structure: “used to” 
T: What did Lan use to do when she was a primary school girl?
T: Yes She often walked past the mosque on her way to primary school.
What about now? Does she often walk past the mosque?
T: So “ used to” means usually do sth in the past and no longer now
- Ask Ss to find a sentence express the wish
-Explain the structure:
 S + wish + S + past simple
-Listen to the teacher and answer:
S1: She is Lan’s Malaysian pen pal
S2: She’s from Kuala Lumpur
S3: She was staying with Lan last week
- Read and find the places.
- Listen, guess and read
-Listen to the tape and look at the book.
S: Lan used to walk past the mosque on her way to primary school
S: No, she doesn’t do this any more
-Find a sentence ( I wish you had a longer vacation; I wish I had more time to get to know your beautiful country better)
