Vocabulary: Related to saving energy. b. Grammar: 2. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing 3. Attitude: Ss will be educated about saving. II. Preparation 1. Teacher: lesson plane, book, color chalks. 2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler III. Teaching methods - Communication approach - Question and answer, eliciting - Techniques: Ask and answer, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss. IV. Procedures: 1. Greeting and checking the attendance (1’) 2. Review of the previous lesson T asks, Ss answer some questions: a. What is the passage about? b. What can we do to spend less on lighting? c. Why should we save energy? Ss write some words on the board: bulb (n), category (n), replace (v), standard (n). 3. New lesson (39’) Teacher’s and students’ activities Content - T asks, Ss answer the questions. *Warm-up : - Have you ever given speech in public? - How many parts are there in a speech? - T introduces : - Ss pay attention to teacher and take notes. - T explains the requirement of exercises a. - Ss pay attention to teacher and do the exercise. - T calls Ss to give the answers. - T checks and corrects the answers if necessary. *Pre-writing. A speech usually has three parts: Introduction, body and conclusion. a. Match each part of a speech in column A to a suitable function in column B. Keys : 1. B 2. C 3. A - T explains the requirement of exercises b. - Ss pay attention to teacher and do the exercise. - T calls Ss to give the answers. - T checks and corrects the answers if necessary. b. Put the following sentences in the correct place to complete a speech. I’m Lan and today I’m going to tell you how to reduce garbage. You know, we are producing a lot of garbage everyday. Our environment is being polluted seriously. Follow me, you can reduce garbage by : Firstly: we can collect plastic bags. Secondly: We can put different kinds of waste in different places. Finally : You shouldn’t keep solid waste with food waste I hope that if you follow these simple rules, not only you save you money, time, but also you save our environment. - T asks, Ss answer the questions. * Post – Writing. - Which part is the most interesting?
