* At the end of the lesson, Ss can will be able to understand the text such as: origin of jeans, when jeans appear; scan the text to get the information to do exercise.

* Skills: + Read to understand about origin of jeans, answer the questions..
 + Talk about origin of jeans

I. Organization. (1’)
- Greeting. 
- Checking the attendance.
II. Checking the old lesson. (4’)
- Introduce the topic of the lesson to the students.(Now we are going to study the history of Jeans. Vietnamese)
+ What kinds of clothes do you like wearing? (Jeans)
+ Do you like wearing jeans? (Yes, I do)
+ Who loves wearing jeans? (Every one,(my friends, father, mother…. )
+ What was jean cloth made from? (Jean was made from cotton.(v¶i b«ng))
+ Do you know when jeans appeared for the first time? And where? (in the 18th century, In Europe) 
III. New lesson. (35’)
1. Pre - reading
- Guide Ss study some new words.(Let the students skim and find out)
+ Write on the board.
+ Read then students repeat in chorus.
+ Explain the meaning.
2. While- reading
- Help Ss find information for questions:
+What do you want to know about Jean?
- Read the text in silence then complete the task (a)
- Complete the sentences:
 + Read the text again and check their prediction.
 + Correct the missing dates and words.
- Comprehension questions:
+ Work in pair to ask and answer the questions in the student’s book on page 18.
3. Post- reading
- Discussion about wearing jeans.
IV. Feed back. (3’)
- Guide Ss practice asking about jeans.(cloths)
V. Homework. (1’)
- Guide the students do the works:
+ Learn new woeds.
+ Translate the text into Vietnamese.
+ Do exercise: 7 + 8 (page: 18 – WB)
+ Prepare for the next lesson (Write).
