Objectives: * At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read postcards or letters to understand children's opinions, feelings and memories about their fathers on the Father's day in Australian and USA. * Contents: + Vocabulary: tear, groom, hug, considerate, priority, distinguish, terrific… + Grammar: Relative clause, relative pronouns. * Skills: + Read the postcards or letters to understand then answer the questions. + Talk about their feeling and memories about their father. B. Teaching aids: CD- player. C. Teaching procedures: Activities Contents I/ Organization: (1’) + Who’s absent today? + What’s the date today? II/ Checking the old lesson: (3’) - Ask Ss to give a complement. - Introduce the topic of the lesson. III/ New lesson: (35’) 1. Pre- reading: - Play the tape first, Ss listen & find out new words. - Explain the difficult words - Guide Ss to read the new words. - Ask Ss to find out new structure by giving examples 2. While- reading: - Guide the students discussion: - Talk about Father's Day: + Date + Purposes + Activities - Let Ss know that the lesson containing some opinions, feelings and memories of children about their father on Father’s Day. - Listen to the Audio-CD. - Read the text carefully and find the answers to the questions a) – d). 3. Post- reading: - Ss work in groups to guess and write down the children's opinions and feelings about their fathers.
