A. Objectives: 
* At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to give and respond to compliments.
* Contents: 
+ Vocabulary: compliment, nominate, charity ...
+ Grammar: Adverb clause of concession.
* Skills: 	+ Give and respond to compliment for common situations.
 	+ Know to use adverb clause of concession and do the exercise.

 I/ Organization: (1’)
+ Who’s absent today?
+ What’s the date today?
II/ Checking old lesson: (5’)
- Call 2Ss to read the text.
- Introduce the topic of the lesson.(We are going to practice make compliment and respond to the compliment.)
III/ New lesson: (35’)
activity 1
1. Pre- speaking:
- Ask Ss to look find out the new words and give the meaning of them.
- Play “slap the board”: divide class in to groups write all the new words on the board.
- Ask Ss in each group to stand in a distance from the board.
- Say the Vietnamese meaning and Ss have to go to the board and slap the board which has that meaning.
- The first Ss slap on the right word is the winner.
2. While- speaking:
- Introduce the structures to give respond to a compliment (Lêi khen ngîi)
- Demonstrate by the first situation in the book.
- Depend on Ss’ level Ts are suggested to introduce more structures to give and respond to a compliment.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs.Read the situation in the book and then give respond to appropriate compliments.
- Call on some pairs to practice the dailogue before class.
- Feedback and give suggested answers.
3. Post- speaking:
- Have Ss work in groups to think of situations in which they can give compliments.
1.Mai has just passed the graduation examination
2.Tuan made an excellent report on saving energy.
3.Bao has just won the school swimming championship.
4. An came first in the 150 metters race.
5. Thao is wearing a dress that she made herself.
6.The football team of class 9A1 has just won a cup in the school.

- Ask Ss to do the language focus 3 in pairs.
- Some pairs give out their answers before class.
- T gives feedback and corrects the mistakes if any.

II. Language focus 3:
b.Although we don’t have a Mother’s day in VN.Dad and I have a special gift and parties for my Mom every year on the 8th of March .
c.We went to HN to watch the parade on the national day last year eventhough we live in Nam Dinh
d.Many tourist enjoy festivals in VNam though they don’t understand Vietnamese cultural very much .
e.Eventhough in Australia Christmas season is in summer, Austrlian enjoy Christmas as much as people in European countries do .
f.Although Jim came to the show late due to the traffic jam, he could see the main part of the show
* Homework:
- Learn new words & grammar.
- Prepare “Listen”.
