Objectives: * At the end of the lesson, Ss can read a text about “ Saving Energy” for both general and specific information. * Contents: + Vocabulary: consumer, lightbulb, account, ordinary, model, category… + Grammar: review * Skills: + Read the text then choose the best summary of the passage. + Answer the questions then write the answers. + Say something about saving energy in their house. B. Teaching aids: CD- player, Sub-board. C. Teaching procedures: Activities Contents I/ Organization: (1’) + Who’s absent today? + What’s the date today? II/ Checking old lesson: (3’) - Ask S to answer the questions to introduce the lesson - Give some questions: - Introduce the lesson. III/ New lesson: (35’) 1. Pre- reading: - Read the text first and ask Ss to find out new words. - Write them on the board and give meaning. - Read them first then ask Ss to read after 3 times. - Call Ss to read. - Remark and get Ss to read the new words after again one more time - Ask Ss to repeat the connective words - Repeat the connective adverbs. - Give some examples. 2. While- reading: - Read the text again and give the situations of it. - Read it 2 times slowly and clearly. - Ask Ss to read in silent. - Call Ss to read part to part. - Remark - Get Ss to read all the sentences then choose the best summary of the text. - Call Ss to give out the ideas. - Remark then gives the correct answer. - Get Ss to look at the questions and the text carefully then give out the answers. - Call Ss to write the full sentences on the board. - Remark. - Repeat the main contents of the lesson. 3.
