Saving energy at school and at home:
- turning off faucets after use.

- turning off lights before leaving.

Objectives: * At the end of the lesson, Ss can know how to save energy and check the reading comprehension. * Contents: + Vocabulary: water bill, enomous, crack, pipe, plumber, dripping faucet + Grammar: suggest + V-ing; Suggest (that) + S+ should; Phrasal verb * Skills: + Listen and read the dialogue then check True or False. + Know how to use phrasal verbs and complete the sentences. B. Teaching aids: CD- player, Sub-board. C. Teaching procedures: Activities Contents I/ Organization: (1’) + Who’s absent today? + What’s the date today? II/ Checking old lesson: (3’) - Make up sentences with conditional sentences type 1 III/ New lesson: (35’) Activity 1: 1. Presentation: - Have Ss look at the pictures and ask some questions: 1.Is the TV on? 2.Who is watching TV? 3.Is the light still burning? 4.What happens to the faucets (vßi níc)? 5.Must we pay for water and electricity we use in our home? 6.What should we do to save energy? - Ss work in pairs - may use sentences with M.V such as must, should - Some pairs practice speaking. - Give the elicited answer. 2. Practice: - Introduce the situation of the dialogue. - Play the tape. - Explain the new words. - Guide Ss to read. - Call some Ss to read. - Present the structure. - Ss make sentences with grammar. - Ss practice the dialogue in pairs. - Some pairs to practice the dialogue. - Feedback on Ss pronunciation and intonation. Correct the mistakes if any. - Ask Ss to read the dialogue again and decide the statements in the book . T or F correct the false ones. - Have Ss compare the answers with a friend. - Some Ss to read their answers. - Ask them to explain their choice. 3. Production: -Ask Ss to work in groups, discuss the topic: What do you do to save energy at home and at school? Activity 2: - Get Ss to look at the pictures and the sentences also the phrasal verbs provided to write the full sentences. - Call Ss to come to the board then write the full sentences. - Get others to remark. - Remark then give out the correct answers. IV/ Feedback: (5’) - Retell the content of the dialogue by answering some questions: - Some Ss answer the questions. V/ Homework: (1’) - Guide Ss to do homework.. Attendance: ……………………….. I. Getting started. *Answers: - You should turn off the faucets when you don’t use them. - You should switch off the lights before going to bed or out. - You should turn off TV or radio when you don’t watch or listen. II .
