1. Activity 1:
- Ask Ss to choose the different pronunciation.
* Key: 1. D 2. C 3. B 4. A
2. Activity 2:
- Repeat the way to use adjs and advs and their positions.
- Give the examples.
- Get Ss to repeat the way to change from adj to adv and other specially forms.
- Remark.
- Get Ss to change from adj to adv.
- Hang the Sub-board and ask Ss to complete the ADVs.
- Remark.
- Get Ss to look at the sentences then put the correct ADV to complete them.
- Remark.
3. Activity 3:
- Write the samples on the board and give the way to use: “as, since, because” to connect the sentences.
- Ss join the pairs of sentences together.
- Ss write the full sentences on the board.
- Get others to remark.
- Remark.
4. Activity 4:
- Write the samples and give the way to use “…adj + that + clause”. Hang on the sub-board
- Give the structure with some adjs using with “that + clause”.
- Repeat the way to use.
- Get Ss to complete the sentences with the words provided
- Call Ss. to write on the board.
- Remark.
5. Activity 5:
- Rewrite the structures to use of “If clause” of Type 1.
- Get Ss to match A with B.
- Ss read full sentences, T remark.
- Ask Ss to complete the sentences.
- Call Ss to write on the board.
- Get others to remark.
- Remark then gives the correct the answers.

II. Adv clause of reason: because-since-as.
1) Structures:
- Eg: Ba is tired as he stayed up late watching TV.
 = As Ba stayed up late watching TV, he is tired.
+ “Ba is tired” = Main clause.
(Nãi vÒ sù viÖc bÊt th­êng x¶y ra)
* as = since = because: Reason Adv.
(Nªu lý do hoÆc nguyªn nh©n cña sù kiÖn)
* as = since = because: v×, bëi v×….
2) Exercise 2:
b. Nam has a broken leg since he fell over while he was playing...
c. Because the bus is late, Lan is going to be late for school.
