I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to review reflexive pronouns, modal verbs, clauses of reason, give advice and practice asking & answering about reason.

1. Warm – Up: (8’)
- Have Ss role play: give advice to people in the pictures, using ‘You ought to …’.
2. Exercises: (32’)
a/ Exercise 1:(10’) Must or have to
- Let Ss to review the verbs in the box.
- Have Ss look at the pictures to talk about the chores Lan must/has to do.
a. tidy the bedroom 
 b. sweep the kitchen
 c. empty the garbage 
 d. dust the living room
 e. clean the fish tank 
 f. feed the dog
- Call some pairs to role play the dialogue. 
c/ Exercise 3: (10’) Reflexive pronouns
- Set the scene: “You do your homework and no one helps you. What do you say?”
- Remind Ss of the reflexive pronouns.
 Explain the use: emphasize a thing or a person
 Ex: She cut herself.
 Tom saw himself in the mirror.
- Ask Ss to read the dialogue.
- Have Ss complete the dialogues with the given reflexive pronouns in the box.
- Call Ss to give the answer.
- Correct mistakes if necessary.

c/ Exercise 4: (12’)Why _ Because
- Set the scene “It’s 7.30 a.m. Hoa went to class late. Why did she go to class late this morning?”
* “Why” is used to ask about reason. The answer must begin with “Because”
- Let Ss look at the pictures to make questions and answers in pairs.
- Call some Ss to read the answer.
- Correct mistakes if necessary.
b. Why did Nam have to cook dinner?
 Because his mother was home late
 c. Why was Mrs. Vui (Nam’s Mom) home late?
 Because she had to come to visit his (Nam’s) grandmother. She was sick.
 d. Why did Ha fail her English exam?
 Because she didn’t learn for her exam. She played the computer games.
 e. Why didn’t Nga go to the movies?
 Because she had to do her chores. She had to clean the kitchen and sweep the living-room.
