Greeting and checking the attendance (1’) 2. Review of the previous lesson 3. New lesson (43’) Teacher’s and students’ activities Content 1- Warm up. - T asks Ss some questions to remind some information about Hoa. - T corrects and gives feedback. *Chatting. 1- Do you remember Hoa? 2- Where is she from? 3- Where does she live now? 4- Who does she live with? 5- Where do her parents live? 2- Pre reading. - T introduces the letter and elicits some new words. - T explains them by explanation and reads model. - Ss losten and repeat. - T asks Ss to read in front of the class cloudly. - T checks pronunciation. - Ss listen and copy. New lesson. A1- Read. Then answer the questions. * New words. - Harvest (n): mùa gặt , vụ thu hoạch - Helpful ( adj): giúp ích - Iron (v):là, ủi - Stay up late : thức khuya - Take morning exercise: tập thể dục 3. While reading. - T asks Ss listen to the tape twice. - T asks Ss to read the letter silently. - T calls on some Ss to read the letter aloud before class. - T checks pronunciation. - T asks Ss to read the letter again and answer the questions. - T calls on some Ss to give their answers. - T checks and corrects their answers. * Answers: a. They are busy because it is almost/ nearly harvest time. b. Hoa’s grandfather helps them on the farm. c. They will go to Ha Noi soon – after the harvest. d. Now, Hoa is different. She gets up early and takes morning exercises everyday. e. Hoa’s mother wants her to wash and iron her own clothes. - Hoa’s mother wants her not to eat too much candy and stay up late. 4. Post reading. - T asks Ss to read the letter again and write down the imperatives that Hoa’s Mom may talk to Hoa. - T asks Ss to work in 4 groups and write the imperatives on a poster. * Keys: - Take morning exercises - Get up early - Take care of yourself - Wash your clothes - T chooses the fastest answer and corrects. - Ss listen and copy. - Iron your clothes - Don’t eat too much candy - Don’t stay up late - Don’t forget to write. 4. Then she drank some water and talked with her friends. - At home, she changed into red pants and a shirt, and put on her sandals. - After dinner, she washed and ironed her clothes. Then she did her homework. - She brushed her teeth and had a bath.
