II- Language content: Grammar: Structures: + What’s the weather like? -> It’s hot/warm/cold/cool. Vocabulary: season, weather, the spring, the summer, the fall, the winter, warm, cool III- Teaching aids: - Text book, lesson plan, cassette tapes IV- Procedure: 1. Warm up: Teacher’s work Students’ work Content - Ask SS to recall the new word. - Practice Presentation: - Introduce the topic “weather”. - Review the adjectives hot, cold, warm, cool. - Introduce the seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter, use a calendar or pictures. - Listen to the teacher. - Review the adjectives and notes. - Listen and write the new words. After repeat. 1. Listen and repeat: New words: - season (n): mùa màng - spring (n): mùa xuân - summer (n): hạ/hè - fall (n) = autumn (n): thu - winter (n): đông - weather (n): thời tiết - warm (adj): ấm áp/ ấm - cool (adj): mát mẻ Structures: - What’s the weather like? -> It’s cool. Practice: - Give more explanation if necessary. Tell them about the equivalent of the word “autumn” (BE) and fall (AE). - Ask questions about the seasons and let some of the SS answer. - Practice pairs work. Ask and answer about the weather and the seasons. 2. Practice with a partner. Ask and answer questions about the weather: What’s the weather like in the fall? -> It’s cool. Use pictures. - Let them read the text themselves. - Explain the word “when” and the structures beginning with “when”. - Listen to the introduce. - Write. - Practice. - Look at the pictures and listen to the teacher. - Read the text, notice the adverbial clause beginning with “when”. 3. Listen and repeat: Structures: - What weather do/does + S + like? -> S + like (S) + n/adj + weather. Eg: What weather do you like? -> I like hot weather. - What do/does + S + do + when + it’s + adj? -> When it’s + adj , S + activities Eg: What do you do when it’s hot? -> When it’s hot, I play soccer. Practice: - Ask them what weather they like, encourage them to answer quickly. - Let them practice in pairs with the same model. - Listen to them and correct their mistakes if necessary. - Have the SS work in pairs. - Ask some SS some questions and let them answer loudly before class. - Answer the teacher’s questions. - Practice in pairs, ask and answer about the weather. - Listen to the teacher’s remarks. - Practice in pairs. - Check the answers and correct if there is mistake. What weather do you like? -> I like warm weather. What weather does she like? -> She likes cool weather. What does Ba do when it’s hot? -> When it’s hot, he goes swimming. II- Language content: Grammar: Vocabulary: sail, go sailing, basketball III- Teaching aids: - Text book, lesson plan, cassette tapes IV- Procedure: Warm up: Teacher’s work Students’ work Content - Ask some SS some questions and let them answer loudly before class. - Practice. What do you do when it is hot? -> When it is hot, I go swimming. What’s the weather like? -> It’s hot/warm/cool/cold. Presentation: - Ask them to retell the names of sports they have studied. -Show them pictures and ask questions and let them answer. Give them correct answers. - Let SS listen to the cassette. - Retell the names of the sports. - Look at the pictures and try to answer the questions given. - Listen to the cassette. 1. Listen and repeat: New words: - sail (n): thuyền buồm - sailboat (n) - go sailing: đi thuyền buồm - basketball (n): bóng rổ Structures: What do you do in the fall? -> In the fall, I go fishing. What does she do in the fall? -> In the fall, she plays soccer. Practice: - Ask some questions about the content of this section. - Ask questions and let them answer, looking at the pictures. - Read the sentences which is disorderly written and ask them to rewrite in order. - Check and give correct keys. - Listen to the teacher’s questions and find out the answers. - Rewrite the sentences in correct order after listening to the teacher. - Correct the exercises and copy in the notebook. Practice with their partner: How often do you go to school? -> I always go to school. What’s the weather like in the winter? -> It’s cold in the winter. What weather do you like? -> I like warm weather. What do you do when it’s hot? -> When it’s hot, I go swimming. Consolidation: Review: T. asks SS to look at the pictures in exercise B1 and to describe their activities.
