- “How often?” questions and answers “One/twice/three times a week” to talk about frequency of activities.
- Should be taught how to describe time tables.
- Should be practiced asking and answering the questions about what they do in their free time.
- Developing: four skills.
II- Language content:

+ How often do you go jogging? -> I go jogging once a week.
+ How often does she go to school? -> She goes to school six time a week.
Vocabulary: often, once, twice, three times, week, activity, diary

- Ask some questions
- Answer the teacher’s questions.
What do you do in your free time?
Presentation:
- Introduce the new words.
- Set up new situations to introduce the adverbs of frequency: once, twice
- Explain how to use these adverbs and give example.
- Introduce the new structures.
- Listen to the teacher.
- Notice the usage of the adverbs of frequency.
- Try to give some examples as the teacher does.
- Listen and write.
- Practice.
New words:
- often (adv): thường
- How often? Có thường
- once = one time: 1 lần
- twice: 2 lần
- three times: 3 lần
- week (n): tuần
- activity: hoạt động
- diary (n): nhật ký
Structures:
- How of ten do you go to school?
-> I go to school five times a week.
Practice:
- Explains the aims and the requirement of the exercise. Ask SS to listen to the cassette and match the names with the letters of the pictures.
- Show the pictures to the students before letting them listen to the cassette.
- Let them listen to the cassette and do their exercises.
- Let them talk to their partner.
- Ask some SS to check whether they do the exercises correctly or not.
- Let them listen again.
- Call some SS, ask them to give the answers and tell them the keys to exercises.
- Use charts describing Ly’s diary to introduce her activities.
- Practice in pairs, asking and answering about her activities following the models given.
- Call some SS and check their answers.
- Ask SS to tell about themselves, use “how often?”
- Let them take notes.
- Ask SS to write 5 sentences about their activities.
- Listen to the teacher.
- Listen to the cassette.
- Match.
- Practice in pairs.
- Listen to the cassette and do their exercises.
- Talk to partners to make sure that the exercise is done perfectly.
- Listen again to check the answer.

1. Listen and repeat:
New words:
- often (adv): thường
- always (adv): luôn luôn
- usually (adv): thường thường
- sometimes (adv): thỉnh thoảng
- never (adv): không bao giờ
- zoo (n): sở thú
- year (n): năm
- picnic (n): buổi dã ngoại
- fly (v): thả (diều), bay
- kite (n): cái, con diều
- go camping: đi cắm trại
- tent (n): cái lều (bạt)
- late (v) trễ, muộn
Structures:
- I often go fishing.
- He usually goes to the zoo.
Practice:
- Introduce Ba and Lan’s activities.
- Tell them what Ba and Lan do.
- Let them listen to the cassette and then retell SS about their activities.
- Explain the whole text.
- Tell SS read the text again.
- Let them practice in pairs, ask and answer the questions about Ba and Lan’s activities. Use “How often ?”
- Listen to the teacher and notice Ba and Lan’s do.
- Listen to the cassette.
- Pay attention to the teacher’s explanation.
- Read the text.
- Practice in pairs, ask and answer questions. Try to practice as much as possible.
3. Ask and answer:
- How often do Ba and Lan go to the zoo?
-> They sometimes go to the zoo.
- How often do they go to the park?
-> They often go to the park.
- How often do Ba and Lan go camping?
-> They never go camping.
Consolidation:
- Teacher asks SS to recall the adverbs of frequency.
Homework:
- Prepare “Unit 12. (cont.) section C. How often? (4, 5)” for the next time.

- Reading a short text to understand the details and get further practice in simple present tense. SS learn how to use the adverbs of frequency always, usually, often, sometimes, never and ask question with “How often?”.
- Developing: four skills.
II- Language content:
Grammar: 
Vocabulary: weekend, mountain, friend, wear, strong, boot, warm, clothes, store, overnight
III- Teaching aids:
- Text book, lesson plan, cassette tapes
IV- Procedure:

4. Write sentences about you in your exercise book. Use: always, usually, often, sometimes, never:
