PERIOD 90: checking 45’ - TEST 4

* Aims: Help Ss revise the knowledge in the last 45’ test to check how much they have done and

 what they will have to improve for the coming ones.

* Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to finish and explain all the parts of the

 test correctly, clearly and individually.

* Language contents:

 + Vocabulary: (The vocabulary from English 6, unit 1 ->14).

 + Grammar: (The Simple present tense; the Present continuous/progressive tense; the Near future tense; How/What about + V-ing?; Let’s + V!; How often do/does + S + V?; )

* Preparation: Photoed test-papers.

* Ways of working: Teacher – Whole class, students work individually, in pairs and in groups.

* Anticipated problems:

 - Weak students may get it difficult to read text and translate it into Vietnamese or explain the ways of doing difficult parts of the test, “such as: The Writing” individually.

 -> Teacher’s sollution: Teacher elicits and helps them do and explain the ways of doing them well.

* Procedures:

* Aims: Help students revise the knowledge in the last 14 units by doing a test of 45 minutes.
* Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to finish all the parts of the test correctly, clearly and individually.
* Language contents: 
 + Vocabulary: (The vocabulary from English 6, unit 1 ->14).
 + Grammar: (The Simple present tense; the Present continuous/progressive tense; the Near future tense; How/What about + V-ing?; Let’s + V!; How often do/does + S + V?; )
* Preparation: Photoed test-papers.
* Ways of working: Students do the test individually only. Teacher watches them doing strictly.
* Anticipated problems: - Weak Ss may get it difficult to do the test individually, so they may copy the answers from the better ones or make noise.
-> Teacher’s sollution: Teacher keeps the class in good orders and watches them doing the test individually strictly.

I. WARM UP: 
- Greets, checks attendance and retells the rules of doing tests.
II. New lesson: (Hand out test papers)
- Hands out each student one test paper and watches students doing stricktly, then plays the tape (or read the text) twice (5 minutes) before asking the students to hand in their test papers.

III. Re-oder the words to make full sentences: (4 x 0.5=2.0 mks)

- Asks the students to prepare the writing again in tables in 2 minutes, then write on the board competively.
- Gets some better ones to correct the writings on the board.
- Write in closed pairs.
- Some write one board. Read, explain the ways of doing and translate the sentences into Vietnamese.
- Make free egs, based on the forms in the sentences. Focus on the Near future tense with: “S + be + going to + V”.
Eg: What are you going to do on the weekend? – I’m going to stay at home and help my Mum.
IV. Listen and fill in the gaps with correct words: (50.5= 2.5 mks)

- Read and translate the passage into Vietnamse, in turns.

V. Read the text and answer the questions below: (50.5= 2.5 mks)

- Asks some students tp read the text again, then translate it into Vietnamse.

- Gets Ss to underline the /s/; /es/ sounds and practise reading them correctly with explaination.
- Read the text aloud in turns and then translate into Vietnamese.
- In three sides, choose a representative to write the answers on the board.
- Tell the marks/ points each one gets. 
C. CONSOLIDATION:
- Summarise the text.
- Ask some students to summarise the whole lesson and tell the most difficult parts and tell which marks they have got in each part of the test.
- Tell the easy and difficult parts that needs improving for the next times, then tell the marks of the whole test
D. HOMEWORK:
- Finish all the homework in the workbooks – from Unit 1 to Unit 14.
- Prepare unit 15 – A.
- Sets homework orally. 
- Copy into books.
