UNIT 10: WHAT DO YOU DO AT BREAKTIME?
Lesson 1: Part 1-2-3
I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: ask and answer questions about break-time activities.
2. Skills:
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
3. Language focus:
- Sentence Partners: What do you do at break time? – I play + name of sport.
- Vocabulary: do, at break time, play, badminton, football, basketball, chess, table tennis

Week: 15 Period: 57 Date of preparation: 28/11/2015 Date of teaching: UNIT 9: WHAT COLOUR IS IT? Lesson 2: Part 4-5-6 I. Objectives: 1. Knowledge: - By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to ask and answer questions about colours. 2. Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills. 3. Language focus: - Sentence patterns and vocabulary: review II. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette, puppets. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Teaching processes: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. Warm up: Play the game: Order the words II. New lesson: 4. Listen and number - Have pupils look at 4 pictures on page 61. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. - Open the tape and listen the sound of the words - Turn on the tape 2 times and ask Ss to listen and number. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Answer keys: 1d 2b 3a 4c 5. Read and match - Ask Ss to identify the characters in the pictures on page 61. - Set the scene: “you are going to read the sentences to get the information in order to match the pictures to the appropriate sentences.” - Ask Ss to read the dialogues and do the task (match the sentence with a appropriate picture.) - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary - Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction - Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment. - Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Answers: 1 - b; 2 - d; 3 - a; 4 - e; 5 - c. Let’s sing: - Put the large piece of paper with the song “My new pen”, written on it and stick on the board. Tell pupils that they are going to sing the Song. - Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words. - Play the tape again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm. Have pupils point to the corresponding words while they are repeating. - Ask Ss to sing in choral - Have Ss practice singing in groups. - Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm. - Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation. III. Consolidation: - Summary the lesson IV. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. III. Teaching processes: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. Warm up: play game: jumped words II. New lesson: Listen and repeat - Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words it and orange. - Introduce the sounds /i/ and /o/. - Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking 2. Listen and write - Have pupils look at the sentences on page 62 and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank. - Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. Answers: 1. It is my school bag. 2. My favourite colour is orange? 3. Let’s chant - Introduce the chant “What colour is it?” - Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words. - Play the tape again for pupils to read each line of the Chant. Have pupils point to the corresponding words while they are repeating. - Ask Ss to chant in choral - Have Ss practice chanting in groups. - The Ss chant and do the action. - Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class.
