- Tell ss that they are going to read all the sentences on the left and pair them with those on the right by drawing a line between them.

-Get ss time to do the task and go around to offer help, if necessary.

-Get ss to exchange and check their answers before checking as a class.

-Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud each character’s lines respectively.

STEPS
ACTIVITIES
I. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson ss can: 
- Use the question What’s your name? How do you spell your name?.
II. Language focus:
* Sentences patterns: What’s your name? How do you spell your name?
III. Teaching aids:
-textbook, picture, teacher’s voice.
VI. Procedure. 
A. Warm up: 
-Organize “Slap the board ” game: 
+Write the Alphabet letter on the board.
+ Get two group : each group has 3 ss.
+ When teacher speak one letter randomly, 2 ss on each group go to the board as soon as possible and touch the letter they hear. The faster is the winner.
B. Main lesson
4. Listen and number: 
-Tell ss that they are going to listen and number the pictures. Draw ss’ attention to the picture. Point the each picture and elicit the characters’ names and what they might say. 
-Play the recording three times for ss to listen, do the task and check their answers. Get ss to exchange and check their answers before checking as a class.
Audio script:
1. Peter: My name’s Peter.
 Mai: Hello, Peter. My name’s mai.
2. Linda: My name’s Linda. 
 What’s your name?
 Quan: Hi, Linda. My name’s Quan
3. Mai: How do you spell your name?
 Linda: L_I_N_D_A
4. Quan: How do you spell your name?
 Peter: P_E_T_E_R

6. Let’s write. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to fill the gaps. Draw ss’ attention to the picture and text. Give a few seconds to read in silence. Tell ss to give names to the new character in the picture. 
- Give ss time to fill the gaps.
- Tell ss to exchange and check their answers before calling different pairs to read their answer aloud. 
- Call a pairs to do the dialogue in front of the class.
Key: ss’ own answer.
C. Consolidation
Tell Ps introduce about the name, question and answer What’s your name? and How do you spell your name?
D. Homework : 
-Learn by heart : What’s your name? How do you spell your name?
-Prepare unit 2, lesson 3, part 1,2,3
