Activity 2: a model dialogue
- T shows a model dialogue then asks ss to read the dialogue.(see appendix B)
- Calls some pairs to perform their dialogues in front of class.

- Ask ss to work in pairs to make the dialogue
- Walks around to observe and offer help
- Calls some pairs to perform their dialogues in front of class.

SPEAKING I. Objectives By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Ask for and give information about their hobbies -Talk about their hobbies -Make conversations and talk about collecting stamps. - Fluency in expressing the hobby II. Techniques: + Pair work, group work, guessing game IV. Method: CLT- oriented approach V. Teaching aids: chalks, black board, pictures, handouts, cards, textbook, group boards VI. Time: 45’ VII. Procedures: Greetings (1’) Review of the previous lesson (4’) New lesson Stages Teacher’s activities Student’s activities Warm-up 5’ Miming game: Teacher gives instruction: “First, I would like to divide class into 4 teams. The representatives of each team will go to the board and turn the back to the black board. I show some words for you. The others of each group use the body language to describe the words. The representative tries to guess the words. In 30 seconds, the group which has the most answers is the winner.” Teacher checks students’ understanding of instruction: + “Who will explain the words??” + “How do you explain the words?” Teacher takes turn to stick a group of words on the board. Teacher organises the game. Play the game Words: singing, fishing, swimming, dancing, playing soccer, playing tennis. Go shopping, watching TV, fishing, listening to music, playing golf, painting. Surfing websites, dancing, playing soccer, chatting, go shopping, swimming Pre- speaking 7’ Lead-in: T introduces the new lesson: “today we are going to learn how to ask and answer about a person’s hobbies.” T asks Ss: “What is your hobby?”, “Why do you like it?”. T calls some ss to answer the question. Teacher presents some structures to ss: I like + V-ing BECAUSE . I don’t like + V-ing BECAUSE More words that you can use to describe your hobbies: creative fascinating practical cheap enjoyable relaxing active Boring Impatient Lazy + “Because it is interesting/ useful/ good for my health/ keeps me fit makes me feel glad/ comfortable/ - “I like going to the gymnasium. Because it’s good for my health and it keeps me fit. Listen carefully Raise their hands to give the answers: “I like playing soccer.” “I like taking pictures, especially selfie.” “I like arts and crafts.
