II. PRE-SPEAKING
* Pre-teach vocabulary
- T elicits the word and helps ss to explain the words and then repeat them
- to situate = nằm ở vị trí locate (synonym)
- stand (n)= một nơi, địa điểm place (synonym)
- maintenance (n) = bảo trì, bảo dưỡng (translation)
- heritage (n) = di sản (translation)
- damage (adj) = tổn thất, hư hại (picture)
- to decorate (n) = trang trí (picture)

* Task 1: Ask and answer about President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
- T asks ss to study the fact sheet of the monuments and explain new words if any.
- T asks ss to read the model conversation in the textbook.
- T asks ss some questions as examples.
- T asks ss to work in pairs to ask and answer about President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.
- T goes around to help ss.
- T calls on some pairs to perform in front of the class.

Thong Nhat conference Hall
Listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1993.
Located : In Hue 
Built : 1805.
Completed : 1832.
Comprises 3 sections : The Royal Citadel, the Imperial Enclosure and the Forbidden city.
Visiting hours : Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Admission fee : 55,000 VND.
Also called Reunification Hall or Independence Palace.
Located : HCM C.
Originally Built : In 1865 and heavily damaged by an air bombardment in February 1963.
Rebuilt and construction completed: in 1966.
Has 5 floors,100 rooms and chambers.
Visiting hours : Open daily from 7:30 to 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Admission fee : 10,000 VND.

- T introduces the task: ss are going to work in groups to ask and answer questions about a historical place they have been to.
- T reminds ss to take notes of their friends’ talk while listening so that they can report in front of the class.
- T goes around to help ss.
