OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know about an excursion to Huong Pagoda, talk about an excursion and express their regrets. II.TEACHING AIDS: textbook, pictures, handout. PRE-SPEAKING * Pre teach vocabulary: - T elicits and presents new words by situation and examples , then models and writes on the board. - go by (bike, car, plane, coach) đi bằng phương tiện (picture +explanation) - a fine (n) = you have to pay money for breaking the transport regulations tiền phạt (picture +explanation) - poisoning (adj) có hại, có độc (picture) - luggage (uncN) hành lý (picture) - get lost = unable to find the way lạc đường (translation) - to throw- threw- thrown quăng, ném (picture) - T asks ss to write on the notebooks. *Checking: R.O. III. WHILE- SPEAKING TASK 2: Talking about their excursion to Huong Pagoda and express their regrets. (Imagine that you are Nga’s classmates and you are not happy with the excursion to Huong Pagoda. Now you are talking with some friends about what you wish you had or hadn’t done.) - T revises the conditional sentence type 3 by giving an example. Example: I didn’t have money and so I didn’t buy it à If I had had money, I would have bough it. Form: If + S + had V3ed, S + would have V3ed Use: The third conditional is used to talk unreal situations in the past. - T asks ss to do the task and present in class. Example: 1. If we had gone by bike, we wouldn’t have got car sick. IV. POST –SPEAKING *Task 3: ASKING and ANSWERING MODEL - T asks ss to work in groups of four to ask and answer about an excursion. - T asks ss to to speak more and more possibly. - T checks and give the feedback. MODEL Nga: Last Saturday, I phoned you but you weren't at home. Your mother said you were going on an excursion. Where did you go? Nga's friend: I went to Huong Pagoda with class. Nga: Really? Was that fun? Nga's friend: Most of the things went wrong. Nga: Tell me, How did you do there? Nga's friend: If we had not gone by coach, we would not have got carsick. V. HOMEWORK T asks ss to do learn vocabulary and prepare the next lesson. - Work in groups. - Answer the T’s question. - Go to the board and write their answers quickly - Follow t’s elicit and contribute to the lesson. - Answer T’ eliciting questions -Repeat in chorus/ individual - Copy down - Work individually and pair works to read and match the things in A with the consequences in B. - Say out loud and explain the answers aloud in front of the class. Example: They went to Huong pagoda by coach and most of them got carsick. They didn’t bring enough food and drinks and they had to spend a lot of money eating in expensive restaurant .. - Work in pairs to compare the answers. - Give the answers in class. - Take notes Expected answers: 2. If we had brought enough food and drinks we wouldn’t have spent a lot of money eating in expensive restaurants. 3. If some of us hadn’t had food poisoning we could have enjoyed our visit. 4. If we had had rain coats, we wouldn’t have got wet and have got a cold. 5. If some of us hadn’t left our luggage on the coach when we arrived, we could have had clothes and money with us. 6. If we had been careful when walking in Huong Pagoda, we wouldn’t have got lost. 7. If we hadn’t thrown wasn’t in the forest, we wouldn’t have got a fine. 8. If we had stayed there more than one day, we could have visited all the pagodas. - Work in groups to ask and answer about the excursion. - Try to speak more and more possibly - Give the feedback to friends. - Take notes - Take notes and do the task.
