Game : HANDS UP
Rule:
- Work in 5 groups
- Listen to 5 pieces of music one by one and guess what kind of music is
- Each group receives 5 pieces of paper writing the names of 5 different kinds of music. Before the music is played, everyone has to put their hands on their heads. Only when the T says 1, 2, 3, each group chooses quickly one piece of paper with the name of appropriate kind of music.

Prefer sth to sth, like to do st,.. Teaching Aids: blackboard, projector, A0 paper, handouts, Anticipated problems: Some SS may be shy, so they don’t want to speak out The lesson can be too long Procedures: STAGE CONTENT TIME TEACHER’S ACTIVITY STUDENT’S ACTIVITY WARM UP Game : HANDS UP Rule: - Work in 5 groups - Listen to 5 pieces of music one by one and guess what kind of music is - Each group receives 5 pieces of paper writing the names of 5 different kinds of music. Before the music is played, everyone has to put their hands on their heads. Only when the T says 1, 2, 3, each group chooses quickly one piece of paper with the name of appropriate kind of music. - Any group raises their answers before 1, 2, 3 will be out of the game. - The group giving the fastest and correct answers will get 10 points. Which one has the highest point will be the winner 5 songs: A little love – Fiona Fung – Pop Suối đàn T’Rưng – Trần Đăng – Folk Music Beautiful girls- Sean Kingston – Jazz Whistle – Flo Rida- Rock and Roll Troika – Tchaikovsky – classical music 10’ - Greet the class and ask about their health. -ask ss to review previous lesson - Divide the class into 5 groups: hehe, hihi, haha, hoho - Instruct the rules of the game - Organize game for Ss - Answer the T - Listen to the rules - Play the game BEFORE YOU SPEAK 7’ Pre-teach structures: - keep sb happy ( explanation) - cheer sb up ( picture) - have sth on ( action) 7’ - Teach Ss structures - Write down the structures on their notebooks WHILE YOU SPEAK 20’ -Work in pairs and read the passage in which Ha Anh talks about music on the handouts and do the tasks Handout 1: “ I really like the Backstreet Boys – they are easy to listen to. Their songs cheer me up whenever I feel bad. At home I always have the TV on and watch many programmes on TV” Handout 2: “ Yes, I love pop music. It keeps me happy. I listen to music all the time. I’ve got a Walkman so I can listen to music when I’m going out.
