	 A. A holiday in Nha Trang
 I .Grammar :
 The past simple tense : .
A: Thì quá khứ đơn động từ được chia làm hai loại.
a. Động từ có quy tắc : ( Regular verbs ) - ed để thành lập quá khứ đơn và quá khứ phân từ .
eg : Base form Simple past Past participle
 - play played played
 - talk talked talked
 - watch watched watched
b. Động từ bất quy tắc ( Irregular verbs ) Là những động từ có dạng quá khứ và quá khứ phân từ riêng không theo quy tặc thêm - ed .
eg : Base form Simple past Past participle
 - see saw seen 
 - go went gone
 - buy bought bought
B . Cách thêm vào động từ có quy tắc - ed ( Spelling )
a. Thông thường ta thêm vào sau mỗi động từ - ed.
eg : rent à rented 	 play à played	talk à talked
 b. Động từ có tận cùng là –e câm thì ta chỉ việc thêm - d .
eg : arrive à arrived realize à realized
 c. Động từ một vần, tận cùng là một phụ âm mà ngay trước phụ âm là một nguyên âmmta gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi mới thêm - ed 
 eg : stop à stopped
 ban à banned
 d. Động từ có tận cùng là - y nếu trước y là một nguyên âm ta chỉ việc thêm -ed.
 Eg : play à played, stay à stayed
nếu trước y là một phụ âm ta đổi –y thành –i rồi thêm -ed .
 Eg : try à tried cry à cried 
C. Form :
a. to be :
 (+) S + was / were + O
b. ordinary verbs .
 ( + ) S + V-ed + O
 S + Irregular V + O .

- Khi thêm -ed vào động từ , chúng ta phải chú ý đến cách phát âm -ed , -ed được đọc là :

C . Use : 
 Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để diễn tả :
Sự việc đã xảy ra và hoàn tất trong quá khứ .
 Eg : I watched a film on TV last night .
Các phó từ thường đi với thì quá khứ đơn : yesterday , ago , last  , time in the past .( in 1990 , in June . )

 1.The simple present: 	S + V (without to)
 	S + V +s/ es
* Cách dùng:thì hiện tại đơn diễn tả một thói quen hay một việc thường làm ở giai đoạn hiện tại
 Ex: I come to class on time every day.
 He goes jogging every morning
 2.The simple past tense:	S + V-ED
 	S + past form (2nd column)
 *Cách dùng:Thì quá khứ đơn diễn tả một hành động đã xảy ra và chấm dứt hẳn trong một điểm hoặc khoảng thời gian xác định trong quá khứ.
 Ex:He worked in the factory from 1999 to 2000.

 *Lưu ý.-các trạng từ chỉ thời gian thường gặp ở thì quá đơn:Last night/ month/ year,two weeks/ month/ years ago,from(điểm thời gian xác định trong quá khứ) +to (điểm thời gian xác định trong quá khứ),in + (điểm thời gian xác định trong quá khứ).

1.Question types : yes/No questions
 Wh-questions . 
 A.Yes/No questions
* Động từ “to be”. WERE+S (WE/YOU/THEY) +...? / WAS +S (HE/SHE /IT ) +..?
 Ex:Were you late for class again yesterday? 	. Was she tired last night ?
 * Động từ thường (có quy tắc và bất quy tắc ) : Did +S+ BARE –infinitive ?
 Ex:Did they moveto Ha Noi 2 years ago 
 B.Wh- questions :
 * Động từ to be :Question word + was/were + s ? 
 Ex:Where were you last night ? Why was she absent from the class yesterday ?
 * Động từ thường: Question word +did + s+ bare-infinitive ?
 Ex:How do you go to school yesyersday?	. What did you do last night ?
 2.Why and because
 -Why là trạng từ để hỏi hay còn gọi là từ để hỏi,được dùng để hỏivề lý do.Why có nghĩa là tại sao,vì sao vì lý do gì.
 -Because là liên từ có nghĩa là vì, bởi vì.Because được dùng để trả lồich câu hỏivề lý do bắt đầu bằng why
 Question: Why + am/ is/ are + s ? 
 	Was / were......?
 Answer :	(s+ v) + because + s + v
 Ex: Why are you late all the time?	-> I am late because I often stay up late.
