 Play the CD and ask ss to repeat.
Sing
Tell ss that they are going to learn the song for the days of the week.
 Play the CD, ss listen to the song.
 Play CD again, pause after each line, ss repeat after the teacher.
 Tell ss to point to the days of the week in the books as they sing them.
 Plat CD and ask ss to sing the song.
III. Further practice:
 1. Trace and say
 - Tell ss to look at page 5.
 - Model the activity by writing Sunday on the board. Write the S in dotted form.
 - Say Sunday. Emphasise the first sound. Ask ss the name of letter S.
 - Trace letter S at the beginning of the word as ss trace it with their fingers in the book.
 - Ask ss to write the letter S at the beginning of Sunday with their pencils.
 - Ask ss to finish tracing.
 - Ask ss to choose their favourite day of the week, and to draw something to illustrate it on the right side of calendar.
 - Call on a few children to share their drawings in their own language.

 B. Content:
 I .Presentation: 
 1 Warm up: 
 - Play an alphabet game. Write the letters Aa- Mm on the board.
 - Say the name and sound of the first letter of the alphabet (a /ổ/)
 - Point to a ss to repeat the first letter and add the name and sound of the second letter (a /ổ/ , b/b/)
 - Continue in this way until you reach the letter Mm.
2. Preteach vocabulary:
 - an apple (visual)
 - a bird ( picture)
 - a cat (picture)
 - dates (picture)
 - an elephant (picture)

- Say C. Ask ss to tell T the sound àd picture for C/k/ cat. Make a miaow sound and say cat to reiforce the meaning.
- Repeat with other letters Aa- Mm. Mime the words ỏ draw pictures to reinforce the words and their meanings.

Tell ss to look at the page 6.
Guide ss to do the exercise in activity book.

 1. Warm up: 
 - Play the alphabet game ftom lesson 3.but extend it to include the entire alphabet. Write the letters Aa- Zz on the board.
 - Say the name and sound of the first letter of the alphabet ( a /ổ/).
 - Point to a child to repeat the first letter and add the name and sound of the the second letter (a / ổ/, b/b/) 
 2. Preteach vocabulary: 
 - nut
 - octopus

 - seesaw

* Checking vocabulary: matching 
II. Practice:
1. Sing
- Tell ss to look at pages 6, 7.
- Tell ss that they are going to sing the alphabet song from letter n- z.
- Guide ss to sing and try to help ss pronoun
- Play the CD. Tell ss to listen to the song.
- Play the CD again and pause each line. Sing the line and ask ss to repeat.
- Ask ss to sing and point to the letters and pictures in their books.

- Run through
- Say s. Ask ss to tell T the sound and the picture for s ( /s/ seesaw). Draw picture of a seesaw on the board and say seesaw as you oint to the picture to reinforce its meaning.
- Continue with r.
- Repeat with other letters Nn- Zz.

 By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to identify, write and use numbers 1 and 2, to begin to read simple simple words, to write numbers one and two.

 * Ways of working: individual, pair work, group work.
 B. Content:
 I .Presentation: 
1. Warm up
 Sing the song: The days of the week from lesson 2.
2. Pre- teachVocabulary
 - one
 - two
 - butterfly
* Checking:	ROR
3. Learn the number
 - Run through
 - Draw a circle on the board. Say one. Write the number1under it. 
 - Draw two circles to the right of the first circle. Point to each circle as you say One, two. Write the number 2 under them, again following the directional arrows in the book.
 - Write the word one under the number 1 on the board. Repeat with number two.
 - Ask ss to open their books and point to the zebra under the figure 1 and ask How many zebras? SS respond one. Repeat with lions.
II.Practice: 
Listen and draw
Draw a butterfly on the board. Ask What is this? SS say A butterfly. Repeat with a bird, lion, zebra, iguana, elephant.
 Tell ss they are going to listen the CD. SS listen and point to the animals they hear.
Play CD, pausing after each line.
Check that ss are pointing to the correct part of the picture.

1. Look and say
-Holds up a ball or draws a picture of a ball on the board.

-Reviews the days of the week using a calendar 
-Tells Ss to open their books at page 9 
-Tells Ss that English stories are presented from left to right , holds up the book and point at the frames in order
-Says point to picture 1 , checks that Ss are pointing to the picture with the 1 in the corner; Says point to picture 2 , checks that Ss are pointing to the picture with the 2 in the corner , repeats with the pictures 3 and 4 
-Asks Ss questions about the story in Vietnamese : Who are the children?(Tess, Baz and Adam) What day of the week is it ?(Saturday) What are the children doing ? (They are playing a ball)...
2. Listen 
-Tells Ss to listen to the story 
-Plays the CD and pause between each frame;asks Ss to tell T in their own language what they understood ( Play the CD again if necessary)
 III: Futher practice:

- Plays the CD again , pauses after each frame, lets Ss repeat.
- Tells Ss to act out the story, calls three Ss to the front of the class. Gives the student playing Tess the calendar and helps her find Saturday. Lets another student pretend to kick the ball

 - Play the CD again, pausing after each word, ss repeat chorrally and individually.

- Point out how Baz describes Sam as his friend. Ask ss why it is important to have friends ( they can play with us, keep us company, teach us things, cheer us up when we are sad, give us advice,)

 - Put the flashcard of the music room on the board.Call two ss to the front to play the parts of Sam and Baz. T can play the role of Mrs Brown.
 - SS act out the dialogue. 
 - Call a girl to the front. Say She or He? And look qizzical. Say Yes, She. She’s Chi. Remind ss that they can use he to talk boys or men and she to talk about girls or women. 
III.Further Practice: 
Speaking
 - Call one of ss tho the front and ask Who’s this?. Ask ss to answer t’s question.
 - Repeat with other ss.

- Ask ss to do exercise in their workbooks on page 12.

* Ways of working: individual, pair work, group work.
 B: Content:
 I: Presentation:
1: Warm up: *Game: 5ms
- Writes all the letters on the board in capital and lower case form.
-Points to each letter as Ss say its name and sound.
-Leaves the letters on the board
2 Pre teach vocabulary:
II. Practice: 
1. Listen and point: 
-Tells Ss to look at pages 12-13 in their books and asks them what they can see on the pages 
-Tells Ss that they are going hear a sound and letter name.
-Plays the first sound (/k/,C) and pauses the CD. Points to the Cc on the board 
-Plays the Cd, pauses to checks that Ss are pointing to the correct letter
2. Say
-Erases all the letters from the board
-Writes the letter Mm on the board and asks Ss to tell the letter name and sound (m, /m/)
-Repeats with capital and lower case forms of other letters

* Teaching aids: flashcards 1- 8, sereval buttons or coins
* Ways of working: individual, pair work, group work.
 B: Content:
 I : Presentation:
 1: Warm up: Guessing game
2 Pre- teach vocabulary
II. Practice : 
1. Look and say: 
-Draws an apple on the board. Asks What’s this?
-Asks Ss what letter and sound apple begins with (a,/ổ)
-Asks Ss to find the apple on the page 
-Asks Ss to look at the person above the apple.Points to her and asks Who’s this?
-Asks Ss the name and sound of the first letter in Tess’s name (T, /t/)
-Reviews the names of all the pictures in the same way.(or supports the questions with drawings on the board or real objects).
2. Play the game: 
-Devides the class into small groups and gives each group a coin 
-Tells Ss that they will each take a turn to drop the coin onto their book .They will say the name and sound of the letter the coin has landed on, and then they have to say the name of the picture on the page beginning with that sound
-Models the activity for the Ss
-Puts Ss into groups and lets them play the game
III. Further practice 
*Activity: 5ms
-Holds up the flashcards for sandbox. Asks Ss to say the first letter’s name and sound 
-Calls a student to the board to write the letter S on the board 
-Repeats with the flashcards teacher, friend, music room, playground, school bus

 Lesson 5
A:Aim: 
 By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to identify, write and use numbers 3,4 and 5.
* Teaching aids: 	CD Player
* Ways of working: individual, pair work, group work.
B: Content:
I. Warm - up: 
 Sing a song: The alphabet song
2. Pre - teach vocabulary: 
 - three: ( visual)
 - four ( visual)
II Practice : 
 1. Learn the number
- Tells Ss that they are going to learn to write the words for numbers in English
- Draws three circles on the board. Says Three.Writes the number 3 under them. Follows the directional arrows in the book 
- Draws four cirlces to the right of the first circle.Points to each cirlce as saying One, two, three and four. Writes the number 4 under them
- Repeats with the number 5
- Points to each number and says its name . 
- Writes the word three under the number 3 on the board. Repeats with the circles for four and five.
- Asks Ss to open their books at page 14. Points to the seesaws under the figure 3 and asks How many seesaws?
- Repeats with rabbits and nuts
2. Find and count
-Draws a kite on the board. Asks What’ s this? 
-Repeats with boy, girl, chair and yo-yo
-Tells Ss to look at the picture at the bottom of page 14 
-Says count the girls 
-Repeats with boys (2),chairs(4)
III. Further practice
 Activity
-Writes the numbers 1-5 in random order across the bottom of the board 
-Calls a student to the front and asks him or her to match the word one to its number 
-Repeats with other Ss matching the other four numbers
IV.Homework: 
 Learn number at home.
