Week : 2 - Period: 4 UNIT 2 What’s Your Name? Lesson 1 (1.2.3.4) I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer about someone’s name. Comment New lesson Lead in the new lesson: Unit 2 - Lesson1(1.2.3) * Look, listen and repeat Ask Ss to open their book on page 12. Ask Sts the name of the characters Use a poster to present the context Play the recording twice Ask Ss to repeat a few times Call on two pairs to play roles Ask Ss to practice in pairs Call some pair to perform Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. Teach the new words: (translate) + what + my + your + name * Note: + What’s = what is + Name’s = name is. * Point and say Ask Sts to look at the pictures on page 12 and identify the characters Explain the pattern + What’s your name? + My name’s ______. Ask Ss about what they fill in the blanks Ask Sts to work in pair. Call on some pair s to perform the task. Comment and correct the mistake * Let’s talk Asks Ss to look at the pictures on page 12 and indentify the characters. Guide Ss to practice asking and answering about names. Asks Ss to use the names in their books or their real names to practice in small groups. Call someone to perform at the front of the class Comment * Listen and tick Have Ss open the book page 13, and describe the pictures. Set the scene: “you are going to listen to the recording, match the information and tick the correct picture.” 1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures in their books 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and tick the correct pictures. Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers. Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line of the dialogue a few times. Ask the groups to repeat the dialogue and swap Have Ss practice the dialogue in pairs. Call on some pairs to perform, others comment. Correct the mistakes. * Point and say. Have Ss look at the speech bubbles on page 14 Ask them to identify the characters in pictures Ask Ss to guess and say the lines in the bubbles How do you spell your name? _______________________. Have Ss repeat each line in the bubbles some times Explain the situation Ask Ss to fill the bubbles and repeat the step with other pictures. Have Ss practice in pairs 4 situations. Go around and correct the mistakes. Call on some pairs to ask and answer. Ask someone to comment.
