Activity 1 : 
I. The difference between past simple and present perfect tenses:
Past simple

B. Practice : 
- T guides Ss to play a game : who is quicker?
- T divides the class into two groups
- Each group chooses two Ss. 
- Ss come to the board and pick out the compound adjectives on the extra board. Then stick to the suitable sentences
- T remarks.
Activity 2: Choose the compound adjectives to complete the sentences:

- T gives the task and guides Ss to do it

A. Revision: 
1. CAN = coù theå, coù khaû naêng Sau CAN (COULD) + V (nguyeân maãu khoâng "TO")
- Ñoäng töø khieám khuyeát CAN coù quaù khöù laø COULD ñöôïc duøng ñeå chæ
 Khaû naêng (Possibility)	 EX: I can speak English. (Toâi coù theå noùi tieáng Anh)
 Söï coù theå (Probability) 	 The dirt can come from vegetables
Söï cho pheùp (Permission): EX: Can I go out, mum? - YeS, you can.
2. MAY = coù leõ, coù theå:
- Ñoäng töø khieám khuyeát MAY coù quaù khöù laø MIGHT ñöôïc duøng ñeå chæ 
Söï cho pheùp (coù tính chaát trang troïng vaø hình thöùc hôn CAN vaø COULD)

PERIOD 14. PRESENT PERFECT WITH SINCE AND FOR
A. Revision: The Present Perfect Tense
 1. Form 
 - Affirmative: S + has/have +V3/ed…. 
 - Negative: S + has/have + not + V3/ed….. 
 - Interrogative: Has/Have + S + V3/ed….? 
 2. Usage: Thời hiện tại hoàn thành dùng kèm với SINCE và FOR để diễn tả một hành động bắt đầu diễn ra trong quá khứ và vẫn còn xảy ra ở hiện tại.
John has lived in that house for 20 years. (He still lives there.)
 = John has lived in that house since 1984. (Giả sử hiện nay là 2004) 
 3. Note:Cách dùng SINCE và FOR: 
 - For + a period of time (FOR + khoảng thời gian:)
 For two hours/a week/20 minutes/50 years/five days/a long time/six months/ages
He has worked here for a year. (He began working here a year ago and still works here.)
 - We do not use for + all ... (all day/all my life etc.):
 * I've lived here all my life. (not 'for all my life')
- Since with the point in time (SINCE + thời điểm bắt đầu:)
 Since 8 o'clock/1977/Monday/Christmas/12 May/lunchtime/April/they were at school
 He has worked here since this time last year.
 - S + has/have +V3/ed…… since + S + V2/ed….
 Ex: We have known each other since we worked in this factory.
