Lesson 1: getting stared – listen and read .
Objectives:
-At the end of the lessons students can:
+Use vocabulary to talk about the rice cooking festival and practice the dialogue to understand about the rice cooking festival in Viet Nam.
-Content: 
 +Vocabulary:
 yell, urge, award ... to , rub, separate ... from, fetch, the judge. 
-Grammar: 
 - Skills: 
Listening, speaking and reading.

 - Lesson plan, Students’ book ; workbook, Audio-CD,CD-Player..

-Greetings and checking attendances:
+Who is absence today?
Checking the old lesson.(4’)

-Introduce the topic of the lesson to the students.
New lesson(35’)
Presentation.
-Explain the requests from the task and let the students list places the people should visit.
-Ask the students some questions with SHOULD:
+Should this person go to Son la?
-Ask the students to tell the reasons why or why not?
-Ask the students about festivals in these places:
+Are there any festivals in Do Son?
Yes. The bull-fighting festival.
*Guide the students study the new words.
Read the words then the students repeat in chorus.
-Explain the meaning.
-Write on the boards.
-Students read in chorus again.
Practice
1-Introduce the content and topic of the dialogue; Ask the students to talk about some festivals that they know..
-Introduce the cooking-festival:
-Ask the students some questions to make sure they understand the topic of the dialogue before they listen to the conversation.
+Who are talking in the conversation?
+Where are they now?
-Let the students listen to the conversation ore or two times.
-Let them listen again.
-Ask the students some questions to make sure they know the words and structures:
+Where is the Liz?
+What is a rice-cooking festival?
+What is a water-fetching/fire-making/ rice-cooking competition? 
-Introduce the compound words:
(In a water-fetching competition people fetch water. What about a rice-cooking competition?/ a fire-making competition?)
-Explain the meaning some structures:
-Ask the students to read the conversation in pairs.
Note: Ask the students to write the conversation at home.
2.-Let the students read the dialogue then choose the true of false.
-Compare with their partners.
-Call some students to give the answers.
-Give the correct answers.
Production 
-Let them correct the false sentences.
-Discuss about the cooking festival if have more times.(Optional)
