I. OBJECTIVES: 
 - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to describe location and size of Phong’s, Thu’s and their own school.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, cassette player, tape, picture
III. PROCEDURES:

1/ Warm-up: (6’)
- Get Ss to remark about the sizes of those schools and where they are located.
- Look at the pictures and remark about the sizes of school.
2/ Presentation: (15’)
$ Activity 1:
- Give new words.
I. New words:
 small >< big (adj) 
 in the country 
 in the city 
* Check vocabulary: R.O.R
$ Activity 2:
- Elicit structure from the pictures
Phong’s school is small . 
Thu’s school is big.
- Elicit gramar.
II. Grammar: 
1. tobe + Adj(tính từ)
2. Where is Phong’s shool?
It is in the country.
 Where + to be …?
 S + to be + trạng từ chỉ địa điểm
- Listen and take note. 
- Pay attention.
- Copy down.
3/ Practice: (15’)
- Ask the Ss to listen to the tape of ex 1 on the page 44 in the book.
* Matching:
Phong’s school big
 Small
 In the country
Thu’s school in the city
- Call on some Ss to read again one by one.
- Ask Ss to ask and answer the questions in pairs.
- Listen to the tape and repeat in chorus.
- Read individually.
- Ask and answer.
S1: Is Phong’s / Thu’s school small?
S2: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
S1: Where is Phong’s / Thu’s school?
S2: It is in the country / city.
4/ Production: (7’)
- Ask Ss to tell about their school.
1. Where is your school?
2. Is it big?
- Talk about their school.
1. It is in the country.
2. No, it isn’t. It is small.
5/ Homework: (2’)
- Have Ss:
+ Learn by heart new words and structure.
+ Answer the above questions and learn by heart. 
- Write assignments.

- Read aloud.
- Ask Ss to read and check their prediction.
