Lesson 1	GETTING STARTED & LISTEN AND READ
 I. Objectives:
 By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the telephone to make and confirm arrangements.
Students should know how to use the telephone to make and confirm arrangements.
Reading for the details about a conversation on the phone.
II. Language contents:
	1. Vocabulary:

	2. Structures: Be going to – to talk about intentions and activities in the future.
III. Techniques: Eliciting, questions and answers

Teacher’s activities
1. Warm-up: Getting started
-Set up a situation’ How do you keep in touch with your friends?’
-Introducing some means of communication by pictures: mobile phone, fax machine, telephone directory. . . 
-Have Students match each object with its name.
-Correct / Practice pronunciation.
2. Presentation:
-Show pictures
-Eliciting questions
* How many students are there in the picture?
* What are they doing?
* What are they talking about?
-Introducing new materials.
-Have Students answer the questions:
* What would you say if you are the caller?
* What would you say when you pick up the phone to answer it?
-Play the tape
-Have Students compare the ways to make a phone call in the dialogue with their answers.
